Easy to start

A well designed machine that is reliable and easy to use. We were having difficulty with our propane tank and it was nice to be able to easily switch it to gasoline.

A great set of options

First, it's an electric start with a remote start, but also a pull start option If the battery is dead. The ability to run on propane and gasoline is fantastic

Only works on propane

I bought this, my first generator and did not need it for 6 months so it sat in my garage. When I finally needed it, the battery is dead and it only works on propane. I received no instructions as to if I was supposed to immediately hook up the battery to the trickle charger and I have no idea why it does not work on gasoline. Not a great first impression of Westinghouse generators, I would not buy another one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great generator design!

Just recently purchased this generator and have used it just once so far. Engine started easily with the battery remote starter on propane fuel. Hooked up to home transfer switch which worked perfectly. Very pleased with the purchase so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ease and Excellence

Waited until used before writing a review: Easy to assemble, wonderful directions with understandable language and pictures as well. Battery only needed to be plugged together and OH MY a REMOTE START! Thought that was overkill BUT great for windy, blustery, rainy days. Comes with oil, funnel, propane hose, and tool kit. Wheels easily assembled. Packaged well - no damage.
Tested with gas and then propane. Want to just use propane on this machine.
Reasons I bought: Westinghouse Reputation, Quiet, DF, ease of operation, extras included with purchase, covered plugs, and reviews were > 96%.
This size should suffice, they did not have the 9500 DF generator when I was looking nor do they have it at this time either.

This was shipped early this month. We just tried it out yesterday in anticipation of an incoming storm off the Pacific. Followed the generator instructions, then the transfer switch instructions, and voila... we have power for all 6 of the breakers supported by our transfer box. We have floor heat, fireplace fan, lights, and cold food. Bring on the storm!
The only negative is that the generator is a bit louder than we expected, but it's outside, so who cares?
