First, I live in coastal North Carolina. The longest without power was 3 week (Florence) and after my generator died providing power after Dorian it was time to look for a replacement. If your reading this review, you already looked at all the features, so I'm only going to focus on what I thought were minor flaws with the product. Oil. The generator comes with 1.16 qts of oil. When you pour the oil into the tank, it does not read on the dipstick. So....Is the dipstick too short? Is there not enough oil in the tank? IDK...I'll play it safe and fill the oil to where it reads on the dipstick without screwing it in. Battery cable placement. I had to reroute the negative cable because it rubs the wheel. The cables stick out beyond the frame.. Noise level. The big one everybody wants to know. I think my 21 hp JD lawn tractor is a bit louder than this. So, if it came with the right amount of oil or right size dip stick, I would have given 5 stars.
Recieved 4 days after ordered. No damage put on wheels and legs, put oil and gas in and it started with first push of automatic start button. Tried the key fob and started on first try. Runs smooth not to loud for a big generator couldn’t hear it inside my house. It will run everything in my house leaving out the dryer and stove. I’m very happy with this purchase
I bought this as a back up for the house if we have a power outage. The workmanship is excellent. Easy to assemble. I was hesitant about the weight, but it is pretty easy to roll around. Started right up. So far I have only used it to run small items, and it does that with ease.
Having recently going thru a hurricane scare with Dorian we reliazed it was time to upgrade from our 5000 watt unit. We had our 9500 set up to supply the house power panel, now when we loose power we can supply nearly everything in the house including the charger for my oxygen concentrator. Really puts my mind at ease:-)
