The remote start is the BEST!

Push a button and PRESTO, it starts with no problem at all! Being 80 years young, I always had trouble pulling the cord. Not any more! Great generator!

A Well Thought Out & Fully Featured Portable Gener

After spending hours researching available generators in this output capacity, including talking to service centers to see what models they had fewest repairs on, I went with the Westinghouse WGen9500.
I installed a 50 amp plug with a 60 amp breaker and made up a 30' dual 50 amp male plug cable.
I also added a receptical for the battery tender and the little garage compressor.
After a few minutes installing the wheels, rubber feet, adding oil, 93 octane fuel, and plugging in the battery tender for a few minutes (battery came right up to storage mode) I wheeled it outside to start it up.
It hardly turned over before starting and settled down to a steady rpm.
I checked output and it's spot on.
I doubt you can find a better generator for a price even close to this unit.

Started Right Up

Arrived in five days. Easy to install the wheels and legs. After filling the Oil and Gas and connecting the battery it started right up with the remote. Unfortunately there was a crack on the plastic covering behind the control panel. I am working the Westinghouse to get this repaired.

This generator looks well made, transfer switch ready, 50amp with remote start. Haven’t used it yet, waiting for electrician to hook it up to house. Got this for hurricane season, hope I never need to turn it on.

Excellent Line of Generators

I have extensively researched portable backup generators for our house. The Westinghouse line of generators beats out everyone else in both price and quality. Unfortunately, the 50amp outlet on the Wgen9500 did not accommodate our elbow/flat/angled cord due to the design and location on the generator. There were also missing parts! I had to take away one star because of those two issues. I still highly recommend Westinghouse generators to everyone. Be sure to research your cord types to see if they are compatible with the generator outlets and thoroughly inspect the box to make sure all contents are there. I am going to order another one and try the Wgen9500DF and hopefully have better luck :) I will leave another review when I receive the replacement.
