Seems well built with lots of potential

I shopped and compared dozens of brands and models before deciding on the WGen9500. My Dad has had the WGen7500 for a couple years with no isaues, so I had some confidence in the Westinghouse brand even though the generator itself is made overseas (Vietnam).
My purchase was to upgrade from a circa 2005 Coleman Powermate 5500 that served me well they many power outages. I was shocked that this 9500 watt generator was not much larger than the old Yamaha MZ300 powered 5500 and is actually noticeably QUIETER!
Will be running it thru its paces soon after I complete a thorough and gentle break-in.
My primary concern would be the THD rating -- Specs indicate up to 23% THD which would be disasterious to sensitive electronics and also would be rejected by battery backups/UPSs which I use many of. Anxious to see the actual noise level in the power output.

I love this generator!

I got this generator around April 2020, and love it. We got it to use for the normal summer power outage we usualy have during the heavy thunderstorms we get. Haven't had to hook it to the house yet, but we have used it camping and it works great. This generator has powered everything we've hooked to it without any problems.
After assembly, filling with the included bottle of oil, and gas (not included of course), I used the recoil starter (pull cord) first to see how many pulls it would take to get started. To my surprise this thing fired up on the first pull. I didn't think the gas had enough time to fill the carb when it fired! The electric start worked just as good. The remote was easy to program and works well.
I only have two, very minor, inconveniences to mention to ensure this is an complete and accurate review. Neither of which would prevent me from purchasing this generator, or any other Westinghouse product, in the future.
The first is the oil capacity. 1.1 L/1.16 qt. This capacity leaves you with almost, but not quite, a quart of oil floating around until you need to change the oil again. I wouldn't be against buying a 1.1 L bottle of oil from Westinghouse if it was available. I might even pay a little extra for the added convenience of not having an open oil bottle to keep track of for a couple of months - just a thought.
The other is that the open end wrench in the tool kit (I was surprised that it had a tool kit, so this is definitely NOT a complaint) doesn't fit the oil drain plug on the engine.
Neither of these would prevent me from buying this generator over again, or any other product from Westinghouse in the future.
Overall, I LOVE this generator!!!

I purchased this generator on June 01, 2020 and recieved it on June 05, 2020. Incredibly fast service. We purchased this generator after reviewing several models by multiple competitors. The WGen9500 fit our needs. Iwill update my review when I actually use it.
