Defective new unit. Took 2 months to get resolved.

My brand new unit never started. Called tech support and after some going back and forth, they had us bring to a local shop. The shop could not get it fixed after getting 3 different parts from Westinghouse. Westinghouse then sent a new unit which arrived completed damaged and had to get returned. We finally have a new unit 2 months after initial purchase. It works on gas so far. We haven't tried the propane functionality yet. There is instruction that comes with the unit telling you to call technical support instead of returning to the store if there are any problems with the new unit. In our case, it would have saved us a lot of time and Westinghouse a lot of money (they were out the shop fee and 2 additional generators) if we just returned it to the store and bought a new one. All in all, we spent hours between calling Westinghouse, calling the shop, and travel to and from the shop. I contacted Westinghouse about any compensation for the inconvenience and have not heard back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your review. We apologize for the inconvenience but are happy to hear you have finally received a working unit. Our warranty does cover labor and parts for the first year and parts for an additional 2 years. If you had any expenses encored from the repair at the Service Center, please provide Customer Care a receipt for those reimbursements.

Package came in perfect condition. Generator assembly was easy and after putting oil in and hooking it up to propane it started right up

Simple and effective

Purchased because of occasional power outages. Set up took less than 5 minutes. After breaking in I hooked up my two refrigerators and freezer and the generator ran them with no issues. Good purchase for the price.

We received this recently and LOVE IT! It’s way quieter than our previous one and more powerful! Super easy to start, plus the option for gas or propane will help us a lot no matter where we camp.
Recently we lost power at home.., never will we have to decide what we’ll have running.., YEAH!!

The generator saved the day! ..and our basement.

We were without power for what seemed forever. Our sump pump couldn't run and our basement started to take on water. Friends loaned us their Westinghouse generator; it was so quick and easy to prep and power things, that we immediately purchased one of our own.
I would recommend this to a friend!
