Power outages have been a problem. We shopped several places and decided to purchase the Westinghouse WGen5300DFv for three reasons: 1. It had enough wattage to run the essentials if our power failed.
2. It runs on both gasoline and propane. (If power is out for an extended period, gasoline may be hard to find.)
3. The price was right.
Thankfully, we have not had to run the generator for a long period but have tested it under load and it performed well.

Dual Fuel Model

With this generator being propane or gasoline it gives me the advantage of not having to worry about gasoline spoiling and causing issues. If I run out of propane and still need to use it, I can just fill it with gasoline and keep operating. It's very versatile this way.
