Very Disappointed

Ran the generator for a few hours just to break it in for the first time just after we picked it up Christmas Eve day so that it would be ready to use when we needed it. Seemed like we had no problems. We lost power a few days ago and went out to start it and had a hard time getting it started. I finaly got it started after about 10 minutes. Ran well after it started and plugged in to it . Ran it for about 15 hours with only needing refueled 1 time. After shutting it down and letting it sit for a few hours I went out to put the cover on it I discovered that I had a huge oil stain on my deck. I checked the dip stick and there was no oil in the engine! Called customer service today and was told to call back Monday thru Friday 8-4 and talk to a repair specialist. Very dissapointed after one use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The first generator I received had been damaged in transit. It must have been dropped as the frame was bent, which made the wheels rub the frame when installed. I was concerned there might be hidden motor damage as well, so I requested a replacement. This was completed and a replacement generator received within 10 days. The replacement is fine.
I will begin the break In process this weekend. I noted a previous review that changed the oil multiple times until it was clean (no metal shavings) so I will do that. I also purchased gas stabilizer to extend the life of the gas in the generator and the gas tank up to two years.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Generator won’t start!!

Just received my brand new dual fuel generator. Installed the tires, added the oil and connected up a 20lb propane tank. Could not get it started using the pull start. Took off the air filter cover and sprayed a little starting fluid and it fired right up with the choke fully on. Let it run a few minutes and switched the choke to the off position and it immediately died. Put the choke back on and tried starting it again…no luck…i called tech support and opened a ticket. Hopefully they will call me monday. In the meantime i will get some gas and try starting it again. Hopefully once we get the bugs worked out i can give it a higher rating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great product, just the right size for what I need

Had a power outage due to strong winds and thunder storm. Power want out for more than a day and started to panic because was afraid food would spoil. Noticed niegbor had a portable generator connected to his fridge , portable lights and TV. Decide to purchase one , man it was the best investment ever made.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Everything I want in a generator!!!

I bought this size generator to keep my chest freezer & 2 refrigerators running when south TX starts having " Rolling Blackouts " like Cal. When they designed this model, they added everything. ( I didn't want the battery, electric start. ) The user manual is so easy to understand & with pictures.

The Westinghouse WGen5300DFcv is a solid, precision engineered piece of machinery. The construction is high quality, the value for the price is the best I've found among its competitors, and the portability and storability is perfect. In addition, the included wheel kit is a nice touch! Most other brands I looked at required an additional purchase for wheels. Westinghouse continues to live up to their almost 140 year historical reputation. This generator has far exceeded my expectations. Great product for a great price.

Duel fuel

I love the duel fuel feature because regular gas has a pretty limited shelf life. The propane lets me go a long time between uses without having to worry about bad gas gumming up the works
