Hidden disappointments

Carbon monoxide sensor renders the unit almost unusable. Any running engine will emit carbon monoxide. As soon as the sensor recognizes any amount within inches of the unit, your out of business. Mandatory disablement.
Totally absurd that the fuel system cannot be drained. I would really like to know why Westinghouse would intentionally ignore such an important factor.
The unit was designed to accept a convenient trickle charge, but for some reason, there is no explanation of how to use it.
The overall unit has a lot of fantastic engineering design, but lacks on a few of the obvious.

Just received this generator today - it is huge! It provides all the connections needed and appears to be all we will need to run our home during a power outage.

Kept us cool during Beryl

Luckily I bought this a few weeks before Beryl and it kept our 2,400sqft house up and running for the 6 days we were without power. I had installed a soft start on the AC, so it ran it all perfectly.
I will note that the generator came with a 3/4" nat gas hose an not the 1/2" indicated online, it has a 3/4" female QD on one end (gen side) and male on the other. You will need a 3/4" QD set up to connect to your natural gas line. The part numbers for oil filter in the book are worthless, Westinghouse parts is out of stock and don't offer a cross. I use the WIX 57145XP, not sure on the air filter as I haven't figured that one out yet.

Big Generator

Just took delivery of this behemoth and have not had the opportunity to fire it up but it is a beast! I am sure it will keep our home powered through future hurricanes. We just went through 5 days without power due to hurricane Beryl with a smaller generator that just provided basics. We are looking forward to having AC during the next outage!

THIS IS THE MOST POWERFULL GEN IN THE MARKET OF THIS TYPE EXTRA LONG HOURS WITH A SINGLE GAS TANK EXCELENT FACTORY SERVICE I THINK THIS IS THE FIRST ONE IN PUERTO RICO MOST BE SHIPPING CHARGES THIS IS A MONSTER GENERATOR DONE FOR EXTREM JOBS WHERE YOU NEED FULL ELECTRICAL POWER IT RUN A COMPLETE HOUSE AND MORE.

14500 generator

Replacement for a home lite 5k, oil dip stick is sub par trying to get it in and out is a royal pain. Trying to check oil level on it is nearly impossible with new oil. Shiney dip stick clear oil and no cross hatching on it. No information in manual about oil filter
part number, other than change it at 300 hours. Hopefully everything works ok after test run and break in.
