Excellent power for the price. Bonuses include the display of all relevant data such as fuel level and remaining run time. Extremely quiet compared to others in its class. Responsive customer service.

Very nice unit

After a lot of looking at other generators, I decided the IGen 2600 would work the best. 2200 running watts instead of 2000 is a good difference. Nice compact package and easy to carry. The only thing was several people had broken spark plugs when they received it, and mine also was broken as well as bent. I had already planned to have a spare on hand so after replacing the plug and adding a little Lucas Oil in the open cylinder, I added fuel and one pull it started. Sounds good, quiet and I like the data center. Changing the oil might be pain without a lower level plug, but not a deal breaker. I plan to add another one later to parallel and get 30 Amps for my trailer when off road camping to allow for AC.

This is a good generator with extra ports, including the usb and cigarette lighter ports, which allows plugging electronics and an air pump.

Best (only) 2600w Surge / 2200w Running Generator
on May 31, 2020

I recently purchased this generator to run my new trailer, which has a 15,000 BTW AC. The AC with no other load draws around 1500 watts. Throw in a few accessories; refrigerator, water pump, entertainment, and your well over 1800 watts, which is what most 2000w generators max out at. This little beauty is 2600w surge for AC startup (yes, I did need a hard start capacitor), and 2200w running - and all for < 50 lbs. This is the only generator in the 2500w <50 lb class. The next step up is 3000w and close to 100 lbs. So happy Westinghouse makes this generator.

Ideal for camping

I looked at and reviewed several portable generators. The iGen2600 is unbelievably quiet and not too heavy to transport. I use this generator to run my fifth wheel trailer power instead of using my onboard resident generator that is loud and produces much more power than I normally need. I'm very happy with my purchase.

A Solid Purchase!

I received the iGen2600 exactly as described. Added oil and gas, started on first pull. Went through the break-in process and all is working great. This generator runs RV camper lights, tv, fridge and small air-conditioner with no problem or lack of power. Quiet as described, a great camping generator. Lightweight and easy to carry with one hand. Quite a bit of research went into this buy and so far it is a solid purchase.

Terrific Portable Generator for my Travel Trailer
on May 21, 2020

I was in the need of a small portable generator to provide power for my travel trailer while dry camping/boondocking. After quite a bit of research, I purchased the iGen2600, and I am very pleased! It arrived quickly and without any damage (it was packaged very well, by the way). I unpacked it, read the manual, filled it with gas and oil and then pulled the starter cord. It started right up without a hitch. I then took the time to break it in the old fashion way (run 1 hour w/no load - change the oil, run another hour w/no load - change the oil, run a final hour with a light load, and change the oil). It ran like a clock through the the break-in period. So, now, how does it work when I put a load on it? I hooked it up to my travel trailer and used it to power the 13,500BTU A/C as I thought that was the real test. It handled it with no problem i - even with the startup surge/compressor load (disclosure - I do have a 'softstarter' on the A/C) it only hit 50% output - otherwise it idled when just the A/C fan was blowing. So, with the iGen2600 I can run my travel trailer A/C and still have plenty of power left over for other lights and appliances. I don't yet know if it will handle the A/C and convection microwave at the same time but I suspect it might - will have to do calculation on the amps. The front panel indicators are also very handy - it is easy to tell how much fuel is left, how much run time is left at the current loading, what the power output is, as well as what percentage of the putput is being used. It also has an indicator if the oil level gets low - which is nice to know before there is a problem. It has just the right outlets for my purposes (2 120VAC outlets, a 12VDC outlet, and a couple of USB ports for charging gadgets (cellphones, tables, etc) - although I typically would use the outlets in the trailer for that. In terms of noise level, we found it to be on a par with the other portable 2000W gennies that our friends have - I am not sure if I can tell the difference in a handful of dB's anyway. It does get louder when it revs up to 50% load when the A/C compressor kicks in, but that is to be expected and is probably still in spec. The lightweight (< 50 lbs) is a nice feature as one person can move it around. It is also very efficient with a good 8-10 hours of run time on a tank of gas (a little over 1 gal) depending on the load. If we are only using it to charge or trailer batteries, one tank of gas will easily last several days - but running the A/C a lot will bring that down to a day or two. We fill the tank and carry an extra 1 gal can when on the road. So, all in all, the iGen2600 is ideal for dry camping/boondocking in a small travel trailer. The extra 600W of power over the competing 2000w gennies at an affordable price makes for an easy purchase decision.
