Bonus Gift - My 2nd iGen Inverter Generator

I purchased my first iGen1200 in 2017 for use during hurricane Maria. There was a whole house generator but it needed trucks to refill the fuel tank. The 1200 was a backup. Fuel for the whole house unit lasted only a few days and bridges were out - it was weeks before power was restored. That little generator became a life line. Keeping the food cold, lighting at night, recharging phones and batteries, powering the computer modem and computers - keeping communications with others during critical times. It is still going strong. Now primary power with the whole house unit backing up only as needed. I have another house in Florida so I needed another "life line" and knew Westinghouse was what I needed. The size and features of this 2550 are even better! Quite, easy to carry, easy to start, power when and where you need it, runs over 8 - 10 hours under normal load on a gallon of gas.

Lots of features not included on other brands

I did the break in procedure with no issues. Lots of features that are not included on other brands at the same price point, like fuel level, and run time remaining. Seems to make good stable power. Lightweight, easy to pack around, and very quiet at low power output, but it does get louder if you load it up.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Helped during power outage

Had our third power outage this year in lower Michigan, so I broke down and got this generator. Started easily, provided power for our refrigerator, then freezer. No overload. Also powered our electronics

I bought this inverter generator primarily for it's features---data display, 30 amp plug (although I am still limited to 1800 running watts), weight, and excellent reviews from previous buyers.
Filled it with oil & gasoline last evening. Started fairly easily without much effort. Tried several power tools without a problem. The eco mode worked perfectly---the power tools barely increased the RPM's. The unit is exceptionally quiet. So far the IGen2550 has met all of my expectations. Very few of the small inverter generators I considered had a 30 amp RV outlet even though the unit is not capable of producing 30 amps. Also the LED data display is outstanding for a unit of this size. Very pleased with my purchase.

Fantastic quiet invertor generator

I’ve only use it once for four hours but it ran very well, was very efficient, and was unbelievably quiet. (I couldn’t get over how quiet it was….I really couldn’t hear it from 25 yards away.) I only had two fans on it as the load, but was still very impressed. I’m looking forward to using it again in the future for situations that are planned and emergency unplanned uses out of necessity.

Great Generator

I compared several similar models and brands before selecting the Westinghouse. Most models in this price range did not have the 30 amp outlet and did not have the digital display panel that this one has. I especially like the scheduled maintenance codes and the gauge for power output. I consider this model very quiet and it works perfectly for my intended application. I have larger generators to power my home in an outage and primarily use this one on my boat dock to run my boat lift and any electrical needs on my shoreline. It is lightweight and very portable and fits nicely in a small storage bin that I have on my dock. I am in an area where grid power is not really an option near my dock, so this generator provides all the power I need in a compact design. Very dependable and great product.
