I spent MONTHS researching this purchase. I read every review on every Inverter website that I could find. I watched seemingly endless hours of YouTube video reviews! I wanted value, yes, but more importantly I needed this device to be as close to silent as I could get... AND... trouble free. It was very helpful to read all about how this device was is great demand following the hurricane in Puerto Rico... they seemed to be seeking dependability for obvious reasons. Bottom Line... everyone I listened to seemed to be very happy with this device... for value reasons... for dependability reasons... AND for noise reasons. That was good enough for me... AND the fact that the Camo version stopped demanding a premium price! So far... after a month of intermittent use the Westinghouse iGen2200 satisfied all of my critical criteria and then some!
After reading the Consumer Report favorable review on the Westinghouse iGen2000 generator -It looks like the write up was correct. This unit is 1/2 the price of the Honda Generator and the quality, fit and finish is in the same league. We will have to see if it stands up to the test of time. Started up on the first pull. Yes! really quite. I need this because of medical reasons for a family member who is taking a trip this summer. Really hoping reliability is there. So far, really happy with my purchase. Some small nit pick items- Spark plugs listed in the manual seem to be European plugs. Westinghouse could simply list the USA equivalents. Could not find out the replacement foam filter on the Westinghouse site.
I use the igen2200 to run the power in RV ordered on 4/3/18 showed up 4/10/18 this unit will run all small appliances in the RV very quiet and glad it's a 4 stroke
Only had a chanced to use it once. Took the published 20 pulls to get this model started. Once it started, it hummed at about 59-61db on idle, at 10 ft., using free phone app. Quick run up to cover a circular saw start up surge, then maintained the necessary output, while I cut some trex boards. Can't wait till I take it camping.
