The right size for the right job

I am a newly anointed Floridian. Last year when we moved to this state, Hurricane Irma hit just a few short months after we arrived. We were ill-prepared and didn't have the things we need to ensure we can survive a catastrophic hurricane. This year, we'll be ready. The most important item on the list is our new Westinghouse 2200 watt inverter generator. While everyone else is doing last minute purchases of overpowered 8000 watt generators, I'll wait confidently that my generator will take care of us. As an inverter generator, you cannot beat the efficiency. And for the power rating, it does the most important things I need it to do: run our refrigerator, charge our phones, run one or two fans. If we want to brew a cup of coffee or microwave food, it's too simple to briefly unplug the refrigerator and get to cooking. I paired the generator with a 5-gallon no-spill gas container that, according to my calculations, could keep us going for 1 3/4 days at 50% and load. If we use the generator only when we need, we can lengthen that timespan to roughly 2 1/2 to 3 days. If you think about it, this thing saves you money too. Instead of having to throw away spoiled food and purchase a lot of non-perishables, you can run your refrigerator and keep your food and beverages cool. Back to the unit: it's a brilliant blue color, weighs as much as carpet shampooer (for comparison). It's easy to carry around especially with the handle. The controls are simple to use and the instructions provided give ample information on first use, sustained use, and maintenance. As for the power generation, what more is there to say: it makes power :)

Fuel drain screw was not tightened on arrival

As I poured gas into tank, I noticed a puddle developing around the bottom. Had to quickly remove cover, and found that the screw that serves to close the fuel drain valve was loose. Tightened it, and the fuel stopped draining.
