This is a great product! Love the compact size and how quietly it operates. Very powerful and meets all my camping needs. Great to know in a power outage it is powerful enough to run my household appliances.

Good unit but had an important screw loose

I was really excited to get this unit in time for hurricane season. After being without power from Irma, I decided to take action and thought this unit would be perfect. The unit arrived timely and undamaged. The best part is it's portability, I can move the unit around easily and it doesn't take up a lot of space like a bigger generator would. Here's where it went downhill though....... I added the oil and fuel; followed all instructions as directed and unit would not start on multiple pull attempts. After several minutes I pause and look down and see the ground a little 'wet'. I bent down and smelt gas...yikes. Without a doubt, gas was leaking out from somewhere under the unit. I pulled off the engine cover to inspect the fuel line and saw that the drain screw was not tightened. Not cool. I can only guess after someone tested the unit, the individual never tightened the screw again. Either that or I bought myself an open boxed/returned item that was never inspected. Either way, I had a definite safety issue to deal with this morning. I tightened the screw, and cleaned up the gas gave it a couple of pulls and it started right up and works like a charm. I think Westinghouse should just check in with their quality control about this since the manual doesn't mention the customer should check this screw before starting.

Someone didn't tighten the fuel line screw before shipping

The unit wouldn't start because someone didn't tighten the fuel line screw, gas leaked outside and inside unit and won't start. I have to dry up and retry. If it works with no further issue, I will revise my ratings. But for now, I'm not really happy with the level of quality control and inspection. This posed a safety issue for me and my family having gas everywhere.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

WONDERFULLY QUIET

The generator is as quiet as advertised. It started on first pull. It took almost no effort to pull the cord to start the machine. The instruction manual and quick-start guide are easy to understand.

Runs great! Runs Quiet! Looks Great! Great Price! In the July 2018 issue of a leading consumer magazine it was rated just a hair behind the top rated and at about half the price. What's not to like?
