A bit uneasy about the reliability

I just bought my new iGen2200 and was excited about my purchase. I carefully put the oil, added the gas and once I put it on CHOKE to start, it would kick in but never stabilize. I would give it over 30 seconds before switching it to RUN and then it would turn off. I was ready to call the 800 line but 7 hrs later it ran smooth.
The next day, I tried turning it on and pull the cable and it would not start...After 2 hrs letting it rest, I was able to start it again. I am definitely having doubts about the reliability of the product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I just bought this i2200 after reviewing other products. Learned the difference between inverter generator and regular generator. No brainer for my use needing clean electricity. Easy setup and ran on the second pull the first time and the first pull since. Have only put in 3 hours of use, but it has been a good 3 hours with steady running and a quiet smooth noise. The only issue I had was with the gas cap. No needle to point to run or off and if you assume the extended yellow is the pointer, you are wrong. I would have placed the run/off wording on the side of the extended yellow and used as a pointer. Just remember to turn right to run (the instructions in the book are correct).

Looks Great

I liked that it is an American name. The size, weight and noise level are great features. It started on the second pull. Successive starts have been on the first pull. Also the starter rope is very easy to pull. I have looked at generators for several years now and when weighing all features and price this is the winner. I plan to use this with my fifth wheel camper and as a backup at home in case of power outage.
