Great Convenient Generator

We purchased this just three days before the two tornadoes struck Rockford, Illinois. It came in the day after our power went out and really saved us hundreds of dollars. We knew it was coming so we did not open our freezer or refrigerator. As soon as it came we unboxed it, read the directions, and added the oil and gas. It took only two pulls and it was up and running. Pretty much plug and play. So happy we made this purchase. Pretty quiet and gave our freezer and refrigerator the juice and after a period of three or four hours, the two of them attained the proper temperatures and the generator had a much less load. Performed beautifully. Would purchase again. Sorry we didn't purchase two so we could have given my son one.

Quiet and reliable power

I've had this for a couple of weeks now, and gone through the break-in of running for an hour then changing the oil twice. During this process, I used a phone app to check the loudness of the engine running - not sure how accurate it is, but it did register around 52db, with no load, at about 25 feet away. After the 2nd oil change, I used a Kill-a-watt meter to check voltage, watts, etc for various loads, and everything looks as expected. After the initial startup, every start thereafter was on the first pull, and the engine quickly stabilized and ran smoothly. The real test will be next week when we use it to supply power while camping. Mainly for charging a battery, running lights and a water pump, and the electronics for a propane refrigerator, but I will also test a couple of loads up to around 1800 watts just to see how it responds.

light weight and quiet

I was amazed at how light weight this iGen2200 is! It is also very quiet when powering my RV but will get louder as the air conditioner compressor kicks in. And that is the key to the efficiency as this generator acts as an "on demand" device increasing RPM and power output as your load (my RV) asks for it. I am very happy with the iGen2200!
