IGEN2200 GENERATOR

Bought this for camping and it arrived a day before a hurricaine! I was able to quickly set it up (I've never owned a generator before!) and it was ready to go if needed! Fortunately, we didn't lose power. So now I will use it as intended, for camping.

Just received my i2200 to use as a basic backup for sump and basic lighting and portable power for tailgating and some back yard aux power. My 10 yr old grandson instructions, added oil and gas and started it up. Ran a few clippers and chain saws right away. Should serve my basic needs (quietly) and inexpensively.

Although I haven't had time to actually use it, this review is about initial opionions (I know kind of lame but wanted to register). Looks great out of the box but I didn't like the fit of the cover over the spark plug compartment, doesn't fit well. All the rest seems good though. Need to add oil and gas to test but will do that soon.

Quiet and easy to use, even as a first generator

I did a bit of research and found this generator was well-regarded by reviewers online, and it fit my needs so I went for it. After getting the generator ready by adding the included oil and some gasoline, it was easy to start and works flawlessly so far. I'm still doing the break-in procedure, but even this being the first generator I've purchased it's been very simple to use. It can hum away even under load and you can have a conversation close by.

I haven't had to use the generator in an emergency yet. But it is good to know I have a quality generator made by Westinghouse. It started up easily and is very quiet.
