We did a lot of research and decided to purchase the IGen2550. The gas & oil are easy to put in. It’s nice and quite & the fumes are out bad. $ for $ we feel we made the right choice.

Very happy I bought this generator! I needed a small generator to run my HF Ham Radio when running portable, like in another state or in a National park. The generator started on the first pull that my wife tried it! Being she is a small statured woman we weren't sure she could start it but a brand new engine on the first start and 1 pull I'd say excellent!

Super quiet - very happy with performance

I bought this a few weeks ago for our off grid cabin. It works wonderfully and is so quiet! We have been able to run a dorm refrigerator, ceiling fan, exhaust fan, all of the lights, and plan to use it for a small AC unit this summer. Very happy.
My only complaint - the very first time we removed the right panel to add the engine oil, one of the clips holding the panel in place broke. I have some serious concerns that this will not be robust long-term, and I'm wondering how worried I need to be.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great for Small Jobs/Camping

I wanted a generator that was able to do two things. First, it needed to be small enough and quiet enough to take on camping trips. Second, it needed to have enough capacity to minimally get me through a power outage at home. These are conflicting priorities which I can fulfill with this generator.
Setup out of the box was straight forward. The unit was complete and no damage was visible. After setup, the generator started on the 5th pull. It does run quietly compared to open frame generators I have had in the past. It isn't light because generator components are not light. However, it is movable by hand and can be reasonably put in a vehicle without great difficulty or using up a great deal of space.
It does have limited capacity because of the required portability for camping. It can still run enough items to survive a power outage fairly well. I tested it with lighting and fans quite successfully. It;s rated to handle microwave oven and other small appliances as well. Overloading it with a 1hp air compressor tripped the circuit breaker. Resetting is easy. Proper overload protection is vital for long term reliability. All-in-all a great little unit for a variety of situations.
