We live in hurricane country, so I wanted a lightweight generator that would be powerful enough to run my fridge and portable AC for when we lose electricity for two weeks. This generator fit the bill. It's so light, my wife can lift it with no problem. Yet, so flexible, it can power my appliances, or just our cellphones.
I bought this generator to provide backup power to my house in case of an outage. I had an electrician install the necessary outside connections and an interlock kit on my electrical panel. I am running my generator on propane and to my surprise it started on the first pull. It is very quiet and I let it run for about a half hour as I experimented with running different circuits in my house. I am all set for hurricane season now!!
This is my first generator. I was very impressed by how small unit is and easy to carry. After filling it with oil, it took two or three pulls and it started right up. Doesn’t ever take more than two pulls to start now she’s broken in. The build quality is excellent and it’s very easy to open the panels for oil access and maintenance. Comes with a spark plug tool and parallel cables. Highly detailed manual and wiring diagram very impressed, highly recommend. Even powered to our leaf blower and still wasn’t at full capacity.
We bought 2-2550 last year for an event/camping last year in June and the generator work just great. This year went to the same event and brought both generators. After starting up one of them it kept shutting off after 30-40 minutes. Swapped out generator same problem (using propane). Any recommendations or ideas
I've just completed breaking my generator in. 6.5 hours of gradually increasing loads and 5 oil changes. I have only been using propane, and intens to only use propane as long as I can. At the end of the break in period I ran my RV air conditioners independently without issue. I know they won't work simultaneously, so I didn't bother. Had no issues and the generator performed well. The included accessories are great, especially the funnel. Works well for filling and draining. It screws into the fill/drain port. If I ever lose it, I will cry. Only thing is recommend getting is a magnetic dipstick. I ordered one half way through break in period and had it installed for last two oil changes. It collected a lot of really fine particulate. Overall I am super happy so far.
