Ran great for hurricane beryl outage, only shut down for oil change. Ran for about 6 days

2nd Chance Generator

I purchased my original generator April of 2022 it’s now Sept 2024. So far it has only worked 30 minutes. It’s been in the shop all that time. They finally decided to replace it with a new updated generator. Well ok that’s fine but I do not have confidence it is dependable. Time will tell. I had to purchase an additional generator and really don’t need it any more. The service people were great but it just takes too long to get anything done. Generators should work when needed I’ve spent way too much on this one and I don’t know if the new one has a warranty as I’m waiting for them to call me back do I can ask. I think I’ll just sell it and be done with this brand.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The generator works great have used it ok propane and natural gas so far with no issues able to run my entire home with not even skipping a beat.

Big enough for the house

This was the largest portable generator I could find (12,000/15,000 running/peak watts) to run my house during power outtages. It will power everything except my 3-ton A/C and the wife's hair dryer. : ) Everything I looked at that was larger was non-portable (and a lot more expensive).
Pros:
* Extra long handles and large wheels makes for easy moving/positioning.
* Handles fold down for efficient storage.
* Remote push-button starter really helps the Mrs. get it going when I'm away.
* Transfer-switch ready plug made it super easy to connect to house transfer box.
* Cost of generator vs. power produced is hard to beat.
* 3-Year warranty out of the box.
* Extra long handles and large wheels makes for easy moving/positioning.
* Handles fold down for efficient storage.
* Remote push-button starter really helps the Mrs. get it going when I'm away.

Cons:
* It's loud, especially when running in the early evenings. I wish there was an option to install a quieter muffler and/or longer exhaust pipe to direct the noise up and out.

High Quality Genny

Website didn't give option for Wgen9500. This is my review for that item:
Nice Genny, heavy, strong and of high quality. Started right up out of the box after little assembly. Had to put on the wheels, connect the negative battery cable quick connect, hook up the propane reg and add oil. Remote was paired already and it started up first time. Smelled like curing welds/paint for a while after startup. Interesting that the manual didn't mention adding oil for the first startup. It did include the oil, funnel and had a tag on the engine to do so but you would think the manual would also mention something so important. Also the assembly section in the manual mentions hooking up both terminals to the battery. This is not the case. Both terminals are already connected, you only need to connect the quick connects on the negative line. Anyway, no sweat for anyone that has half a brain. Back-jacked it through a 50 amp breaker into my sub panel and closed the main. Ran the whole house on propane, no problem. Did not test the AC yet. Will update when I have it. Great product so far, 5 stars for sure.

Easy To Use

I just bought this generator to replace a generator of another brand that was only 6 months old that developed a fuel leak. The reason that I purchased it is because it has high ratings and I need a generator that I can depend on because our power company PGE has made it routine to shut the power off when the wind blows. Its seems to be of better quality, easy start and quieter.
I would recommend this to a friend!
