quality and shipping execution near perfection

Westinghouse executed the design and development of this generator 100% to my expectation. Shipping was very well thought out to minimize assembly time and effort. Lifting the heavy generator out of the nest and above the wood blocks was difficult. This could be improved by attaching the vertical wood blocks with screws to make them removable. Function of the generator was perfect. Very pleased with my purchase decision.

I have had the generator three months, won't start, can't find the battery to replace it, and can't get anyone on the phone for help. So far not terribly impressed

Solidly built unit

I bought this generator mid-way through 2020 but was not able to really check it out and write a review until now.. Let me explain I work in emergency preparedness for a large utility and do to the pandemic and multiple storms in 2020, I had to put my new generator on the back burn. I will say that I researched many other units and waited @ 6months for this one to become available. I could not be more pleased wit the quality of the unit and the solid design. Hopefully I will not have the need to use it anytime soon but have great piece of mind that my wife will not be in the dark should we we affected by a storm and I am away working to help restore power for others.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Generator keeps turning off by itself

I bought it 3 months ago and so far I’m not happy with it.. it’s keeping turning off by itself !!!

THE ONLY GENERATOR YOU WILL EVER NEED

THE BEAST IS WHAT THIS IS. ALL 432 LB'S OF HER. AFTER ATTACHING THE WHEELS AND MANEUVERING THIS THING OFF THE CRATE, IT WAS AN EASY PROCESS TO GET THE BEAST READY FOR FUTURE POWER GRID FAILURES. BOLTED ON THE LIFT BAR, FILLED THE CRANKCASE WITH THE 1.6L OF SUPPLIED OIL, CONNECTED THE BATTERY TERMINALS, ADDED SOME GAS, PAIRED THE REMOTE START FOB. THE BEAST STARTED ON THE SECOND TRY AND RAN WELL. I WILL ADD AS I READ QUESTIONS/ANSWERS ONLINE ABOUT THIS UNIT, I SAW NEW OWNERS SAY THAT AN OIL FILTER WAS NOT DESIGNED ON THIS TWIN MOTOR. I FOUND THE FILTER LOCATED FORWARD FROM THE MUFFLER ON THAT SIDE, LOWER SECTION OF THE MOTOR AN OIL FILTER RESIDES. THIS GENERATOR WILL GIVE MY FAMILY A GOOD SENSE OF SECURITY WHEN THE NEXT HURRICANE HIT MY AREA OF FLORIDA.

Overall this is a solid product with a lot of features that the competitors do not provide. There are a couple of things that Westinghouse can improve on this product. 1. Off the pallet, after installing the wheels, the wheels should be touching the ground so you can roll the generator off the pallet. This is very heavy (352lb). With the wheels not touching the ground, it took 3 adults to lift if up and move it off the pallet. 2. The dip stick is in a very awkward location. Plus, it is very hard to pull it off and good luck in trying to push it back in.
other than that, it is a great product with lots of functions.

Won't stay running

Generator will not stay running. It starts and runs for 3 - 5 seconds and shuts off.

Looks perfect

Just got it. Already to start it up. I’m hoping it works sweet. To run AC in the summer when power outages. It’s a big bad boy generator. I have it 4 stars because I haven’t used it yet!. But if it’s works perfectly then 5 stars.
