The unit arrived without any damage and after inspecting is a very good quality and assembly however after using the unit multiple times it has incurred rattle which I have not been able to find and is somewhat annoying. Number two on fuel economy mode the unit constantly surges find me when it is running at a higher RPM at a steady load the surging is reduced to almost nothing. Number three the unit on the front panel has a reset button and a 20 amp fuse however when the unit is overloaded it only trips to reset button and not the 20 amp breaker also there is nothing in the instructions that says anything about that breaker it does not even show 1. Now for the good things I am very happy with the build quality of the unit it is extremely user-friendly very quiet and gets great fuel economy I change the oil every 50 hours the unit does not smoke but once in awhile you have to add all within that 50 hour. For a camping generator I highly recommend this unit I use it at my cabin I started Friday evening and it runs non-stop until Sunday late afternoon I power of 5000 BTU air conditioner polite a coffee pot in the morning and my phone chargers Etc and the unit performs flawlessly and I only use 5 to 6 gallons of fuel

Good first impression

I was set to purchase a competitors product (the red one) and came across the iGen2500. The specs were better than the competition and the price about 1/2 with a good 3 year warranty. It was delivered within 2 days and arrived in good shape with no shipping issues. I followed the instructions for pre-startup (basically add oil), and on the 3rd pull it fired off. I let it run for about 1/2 hour and then shut it off. A week later I decided to test it out on my trailer. This time it started on the first pull (and has every other time since). I plugged the trailer in and started turning on lights, then the refrigerator and finally the AC (13,500 watts). I was running the iGen on economy mode and when I turned on the AC the generator immediately increased the revs to accommodate the load, without issue. So far this appears to be a well designed and built product. I really have no complaints. I did call Westinghouse support prior to purchase and got a very knowledgeable and pleasant rep on the phone after a very short wait. My questions were answered quickly. I was very pleased that customer service was so good and so quick - that bodes well for any future issues I may have. Time will tell with this generator, but I have a feeling that if I maintain it per the manual, I should be using it well past the 3 year warranty.

Will be using this generater for emergency power at home. I couldn't believe how easy the rope pulled and it started on the very first pull! Ran it for over an hour our right out of the box with 3/4 load and it ran very well.

I am on the road for most of the year and will be using it for an air conditioner (summer) and heater for the winter. Given what I paid for it as opposed to $3-4000 in hotel bills it has paid for itself already. As time goes by i will be trying various other equipment as well and only then will I see how it holds up. I did a bit of research prior to buying the generator and this fell into the amp range and price range. I thought it would be lighter but I will get used to it

Worried about longevity

I bought a pair of the igen 2500 generators. Set up was easy and they worked perfectly. After about 30 hours one of the generators has started burning oil at a fast rate. Waiting to hear back from an engineer at Westinghouse.
