Bought this to power-up my pop up camper this hunting season . Filled it with oil and gas , it was running on first gentle pull ! Wow ! Using it on and off around the house , to get the first tank of gas through it , but it isn't using much gas so it will be awhile before I'll know how long it will run on a tank . So Far so good !!!

Great Generator, but not without a rough start....

Short answer....this a really well designed generator, but there are some packing and quality control issues. I would recommend this to a friend. So, I got my generator in the mail.....right after Hurricane Irma hit.....that's my fault. When I opened the box, the silicon package inside (the one that absorbs moisture) had broken and silicon beads were EVERYWHERE......including inside the generator. After quite a while of shaking a 50 lbs generator every which way with the cover off to try and get as many beads as I could out of the generator, I attempted to start it. It did start......but on the 7-10th pulls.....not great. After 3 minutes of running the generator would just die....even with no load plugged into it. When I did put a load on it, it died very quickly. As a former small engine mechanic at a lawn mower repair shop, I started checking gas level, oil level, air filter, and choke....all of which checked out. Lastly, I checked the spark plug and bingo! The spark plug had been WAY over-tightened and the ceramic insulator had cracked. Also, the gap was .003 out of spec. I bought a new plug at AutoZone and installed it. The generator started up on the first pull, ran great and has no issues. I think there MAY be an issue with the power meter on the front....didn't seem like it was giving me accurate readings, but I haven't had time to double check it yet. All and all, a solid little generator, but not perfect out of the box.

seem to be nice and quiet. 1000 times quieter then standard generator. performs as stated. lifetime technical support phone number is part of the face plate so, you will always have it. i bought the i2500 and the i2200xle and the parallel cord. never running out of power now. same price as one honda and i have more power. thats nice

Run great, quiet, and appears to be well made

The iGen 2500 started right up. It was surprisingly easy and smooth to pull the cord. I did a one hour test run with a full size side by side refrigerator, one lamp, one box fan, a charging iPad, and a Mac all at the same time. I never saw it resister above 25% or so and all went well. Ran nice and quiet. In some cases the refrigerator could create a major but very brief surge in watts (maybe 1,800 at the most) that might require powering up and stabilizing it before connecting the rest. I don't think it would be a problem once the refrigerator is cooled down. This is what we ran with a borrowed generator during Irma and it helped a lot, no lost food and reasonable comfort sleeping. The only problem is the fuel gauge does not work but I fully expect Westinghouse to make that right. I also plan to use it for some camping.
