Quiet and Powerful

I bought the iGen2500 for my 2015 Keystone Hideout 210LHS which has a 13,500btu AC unit on it. I needed a generator to start and run the AC unit. I tried a Honda EU2000i and it bogged it out and tripped the breaker on the generator trying to start the AC. I tried the Honda a couple of times with no success. I left all the breakers on and let the battery charge from the camper Battery Converter (which is 55amps) while trying to start the AC because that's how it should be to me. I don't want to turn off everything to just run the AC. NOW the first time I tried the iGen2500 it also bogged down and tripped the gen's breaker. I fired up the iGen again and turned the AC unit to fan only for a little while and tried it again and guess what, she work's like a champ. It cycles the AC unit's thermostat on efficiency mode with not that much trouble. The iGen2500 display shows when the AC is on at around 50-75% or around 1600 watts. The display is mostly great. The only problem with the display is it shows in liters and not gallons or quarts. My other problem is it has 2 USB 5 volt outlets and NOT a 12 volt output. I wish it had a 12-14 volt output instead. And since this is a powerful, quiet generator, kinda made for an RV ,why doesn't it have an 30 amp STW AND 20 amp socket??? I think it's called an STW socket?? Anyway, so far so good for us. Great Generator but could use some improvements

Nice generator. I spent copious amounts of time researching a generator / inverter for my 5th wheel. It came down to the Honda 2000 watt vs the iGen2500. I wanted to be able to start and run the AC unit so I opted for the iGen2500 over the iGen2200. Yes it did! It was easy to setup and get running, from a out of the box to add oil and gas, it started on the 2nd pull. Suggestions and the reason for 4 stars vs 5: 1) It doesn't come with an hour meter. They are not an expensive item, not hard to install, and the unit requires maintenance based on a hourly runtime schedule. So one would think it would come with an hour meter. ( I purchased a Hardline hour meter for $20 an installed it in about 10 minutes.) The iGen2500 already has a digital display, so one would think an hour meter could be incorporated into the digital readout. FYI Westinghouse... including an hour meter would set you above everyone else and give you an edge when comparing brands, as no one else includes an hour meter on this size of generator. Just saying.... 2) Digital display, great feature but it has some issues, at least for us Americans. First, it's location on the very bottom of the generator makes it hard to read. Locating it on the top would have been a better location. 2nd: it displays the amount of fuel left in the tank in liters. In America where we use quarts / gallons, Quarts remaining would be better. 3rd: the readout for power output is in kilowatts, so the total kw is 2.0kw - 2.5kw, we use wattage to determine load / how many appliance we can power with a generator. So a reading in watts would be far more useful than in kilowatts. 4th: The digital readout rolls between each of 4 readouts, with a letter in front to indicate what the reading signifies. L = for fuel remaining ? how about F for fuel F = for remaining runtime? how about T for time I would like a way to add an external fuel tank for longer run times. Other than these items, I'm happy with my iGen2500 and would recommend it!

Fortunately I have not had to use this generator; got for in case need in a power outage. Has appearance and quality feel. More affordable than a Honda unit with same power.

Runs the A/C in the RV!

I wanted a lightweight solution to run my RV AC, and after extensive generator research I decided to install a Micro Air 364 soft starter for my 15,000 BTU RV AC. I purchased the iGen2500 due to other reviews as well as a recommendation from Micro Air. I received the generator, filled the oil and gas and it fired right up after 2 pulls. I then decided to put it to the test with the RV AC system. Plugged the RV into the generator and the A?C fired right up. I ran it for an hour or so and the generator performed awesome. So, if you are looking for a small lightweight generator to run your 15k BTU AC, go get the soft starter 364 and the Westinghouse iGen2500.
I would recommend this to a friend!
