GREAT PORTABLE GENERATOR

PURCHASED TO REPLACE ANOTHER BRAND. I FOUND IT EASY TO TRANSPORT BECAUSE OF LIGHT WEIGHT, BUT VERY POWERFUL.

Reasonably priced, quiet,

I bought this for a camping trip to the Smokies where I will not have power. It meets the requirements of the National Park Service regarding noise and is light enough for me to move by myself. I like the fact I can hook two of them together and have enough power to run the A/C in my trailer. It only took me about 10 minutes to get it out of the box and running.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Limited Run Time, Will This Meet You Needs?

This appears to be a good machine. It started on the first pull right out of the box, after adding the gas and oil. Time will tell how good it really is. I added a little gas and it started right up. I opened the choke and after a several seconds the engine began to surge and died and would not start again. (I hope this is not going to be a problem.) I added a little more gas to the tank and it restarted and the engine smoothed out, so maybe it wad just air in the lines. I restarted it a few days later and it had no problems. It does have a bit of a sound to the muffler as if it were running a little rich and reburns in the muffler a little and I don't know if this is normal for this engine. I am going to give it some time and see how it goes. I will also try to talk to someone on the help line and see what they have to say. The rest of my review will sound like knit picking, but hopefully can help the buyer and the designer.
(1)The dB rating would be more helpful if it stated at how many feet this was taken. Like many other reviewers I find machine this to be louder than expected (not a deal breaker).
(2) The operator should not have to remove a cover that has Philips head screws, in order to check or add oil. The cheap screwdriver that is provided is a poor fit for the screws and would booger them up over time.
(3) The fuel capacity is way to small for my intended purpose, (2.5 Hrs. of run time at full output). I should have been more thorough when researching this product. I cant imagine having to get up several times a night to keep a refrigerator and freezer running without the generator running out of fuel and possibly damaging them the next time we lose power for several days. I must look into an auxiliary fuel tank for this generator and now what seemed like a good price is no longer.

easy start up operation

I got the IGen2500 for emergency electrical power. Very clear instructions on how to start up and operate. Easy pull to start. Only gave it 4 stars since haven't used it except to have it prepared. Will provide another review after I've tested it for a longer period.

Portable but Powerful

Great Generator, better than I expected. It's light and easy enough for me to load and unload from our trailer, but powerful enough to run everything we need. Well thought out design with the fuel, power load, and time remaining indicators. WIsh I had these features on a larger generator I use for my house.
