Well designed and engineered

Just bought this dual fuel generator after a lot of research. It is well designed which made it easy to set up quickly. It's heavy as you would expect but the handle and wheels means moving it is not a problem for most people. This generator is quieter than most its size. You will need a special regulator if you want to hook it up to your main propane tank rather than the 5-gallon container. The 5-gallon regulator doesn't provide sufficient pressure I was told.

Very Satisfied

I bought this generator a month ago and didn't unbox it for a while. It was easy to put together, just the wheels and add oil to the crankcase. I started it on propane the first time and it kicked right off. Connected to my house and ran it on gasoline as well. I've only ran it for an hour, but so far I'm very satisfied. It appears to be well built so we will see how it holds up.

Waiting To Be Put To The Test

I bought the 9500 last year, but had an easy storm season, so I never took it out of the box. Henri' was heading our way, so my son and I opened the box and set it all up; it started on the spot! I couldn't find info. on how much oil it held, (1 quart), and that was the biggest hassle of putting it together; pouring ever so slowly and checking what felt like every ounce 'til it was filled! The remote start works around corners, YAY! Now I'm on a roll and are planning to install a generator interlock into our breaker box. This is all a response to Sandy; 2 weeks; never again. My heart always goes out to the southern states who always take the brunt of the yearly, hurricane seasons. Stay strong!

Love the ability to use either propane or gas and that it has a variety of plug-ins! Such a lifesaver living full-time in an RV.

Unboxed and assembled right after it was delivered. Packaged well. Connect 20 LB LPG tank. It fired right away and no problems experienced during the first 2.5 hours of break-in testing using both 120v outlets. Used a 500w work lights, a clothes iron, and portable heaters for break-in loads. Iron and heater cycle on and off to automatically vary load. After 1 hour switched to gasoline. Started right up. Seems to be a well thought out design. Having both a 30 amp and a 50 amp 120/240 outlet provides user with more options for connecting generator such as a stick welder. No problems found with assembly. The only thing I noticed was the yellow cap (Part 2.5) over the propane connector fitting on the generator required a pliers to remove. It was cross-threaded and it shed plastic shavings which we carefully removed so as not to cause problems with the internal working parts of the regulator.(PRESSURE REDUCING VALVE part 2.4) The where two occasions of "backfiring" on restarting the unit when unburnt fuel ignited in the exhaust system. Could have been operator error. We chose this unit because of the dual fuel option, fuel consumption, 3 year warranty, and the price. I would have preferred a smaller inverter type unit but with an all electric house we needed the watts this one provides. We thought it best to over size rather than continuously run at a smaller unit at capacity. Thank you Westinghouse!
