I received the generator a few days ago and finally had the chance to unbox, assemble the wheels, and add oil. I had to buy another quart of 4-stroke 10w-30 oil because the bottle that came with the generator didn't seem like quite enough to be within the safe operating range on the dip stick, which is the only reason for 4 stars. Once the oil level was topped off, I connected the generator to an LP tank (I don't intend to use gasoline in this unit unless I absolutely have to because of the odor and issues with old/bad gasoline). It came with the proper LP hose and regulator for a LP tank which was nice. The electric start was great and after the engine turned over a few times, it fired right up. I put it to the test immediately and connected a 1/2 hp jet pump that waters my garden, and ran it for a solid hour. I'm so glad I have this for backup power to keep my refrigerator and freezer running, and have power available when I'm running jobs for my audio visual business in large fields and parks. I will need to keep the unit further away and with a barrier to keep the noise down when running for sound applications but that is a simple fix with long heavy gauge wire and a portable shield in front. The main thing is that I know I have sufficient power for my lighting and sound equipment to move some serious sound waves and also a home backup for the next time we lose power. A bad storm came through two years ago and trees were down everywhere resulting in loss of power for almost 10 days... I won't be without power this time.

Great generator

Great generator. The setup instructions were pretty simple. My electrician put in a power transfer switch on the breaker box so got that covered. And the electrician thinks the generator can easily run the HVAC, OR most of the house. Hope I never need it to power the house but at least I'm ready now.

The WGen9500DF was easy to set-up and started very quickly after filling with oil and fuel. this generator is quieter than expected and runs both 13,500btu air conditioners on our travel trailer with no issues.

I bought this generate for power outages during hurricanes. I just got it, did not use it yet - just tested, so more updates will come.
Assembly was easy, i put this generator on little kids wagon and was able to attach wheels, and then little support legs. Hooked to propane tank and it worked.. tested on one room only, but intended to use it for powering AC.. I am female and not very familiar with generators, but i followed instruction how to use and it was fairly easy.

Really good generator

After having other generator that was a disappointment, we finally purchased this Westinghouse 9500 and we love it. You can power up many things with this generator and it is easy to use and easy to maintain. The gas tank on our previous generator rusted so we were scared to buy another one with a metal tank. Prior to purchasing this one we called Westinghouse and they informed us that the tank is coated and protected to it should not rust. When we received it we realized that the tank is coated so we are not worried. Thus far, I am very satisfied with this generator.
