Easy start remote, quiet operation, well built.

Bought this to power whole house, runs 3.5 ton ac, lights, and appliances. Recommend 50amp connection. If you have electric water heater recommend you switch off during regular operation since electric water heater is the next largest power user.

I just purchased this to replace an existing 7000 watt generator that provided 21 years (!) of reliable performance. Having just run that unit for a week straight during an extended storm power outage, it seemed like an appropriate time to retire it and get a new generator.
After much research I chose the WGen9500SF. I wanted additional wattage, and especially wanted the ability to run on propane in addition to gasoline. I have a 500 gallon propane tank on my property, so with a longer hose this generator can be set up to run for quite a long while. The push button start and auto-choke features are both very good, and will be helpful in the event that other less technically inclined family members need to operate it.
The generator arrived in perfect condition and compared to my old 7000 watt unit, the Westinghouse is actually a bit smaller, and a little quieter. Assembly was very simple and it is nice that the motor oil, funnel, etc. are all included.
I've run the generator for 30 minutes or so- It fired up immediately on propane and once I realized that the duel fuel switch has to fully "click" to gasoline, it ran nicely on gas, and can indeed switch "on the fly" between both fuels.
I connected to my home's manual transfer panel with my existing 30 amp connector cord and under load, the generator performed perfectly. Next week my electrician will be doing some upgrades so I can connect with a 50 amp connector cord and get the full capacity of the generator.

Took me about 15 minutes to put the wheels on make all the connections. No problem at all doing if by myself. Put the oil in, hooked it up to propane and it fired right up. I was expecting it to be loud but it wasn't near as loud as my old generator so that was great. I don't know if I'll use the remote but I was very impressed with how far away from the generator I could be and have the remote start and stop it. Overall I'm very pleased.

This Is my second WH Generator and I can’t say enough for quality and performance. Upgraded to WGen9500DF. Wanted more output and duel fuel. So far extremely happy as with my first. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great generator for the money. Can’t be beat!

I purchased this on 8/11/20 and it was delivered 8/26/20. I was starting to worry it wasn't going to arrive. The box was a little beat up and there was a pretty big oil stain permeating the box (which worried me) but the generator is almost 200 lbs so I'm sure it got knocked around a lot during loading and unloading. Putting the wheels on was straight forward but having a friend or neighbor close by to help will be required if you lack some strength. The generator comes with 1 qt of oil, a tiny tool kit, a propane connection, a funnel, a battery charger, a wheel kit, and easy to understand instructions. Yes, I actually read the instructions and I recommend you do too. I had trouble finding the key fob until I looked at the "ripcord" and there it was. I added the oil, put in some gas, and the generator fired right up on gasoline. I let it run for 15 minutes and then I shut it down. I attached the propane connection to my 20lb cylinder and restarted the generator on propane and again, no issues. I played with the electric start and stop feature using both the push button and the remote key fob. Both worked great! I hope you have the same positive experience I have. Good luck.
