Great for whole house backup

We purchased this generator for a cost-effective solution to backup our home when we lose power. After our electrician added an outlet and a transfer switch to our electrical box, it worked like a charm and gives us great piece of mind in a storm.

Easy to set up, easy to use

I recently paired the Westinghouse 9500 with an interlock system for seamless power transitions during outages, and I couldn’t be happier with the setup. The generator is incredibly easy to use and set up, even for someone without much experience. The remote start is a standout feature for those with a bad back like me. As far as capacity goes, I am able to support my base load, my 3.5 ton downstairs A/C unit along with 2-4 major appliances without the need of a soft-start on the A/C unit.
One thing to note: it’s heavy. Moving it can be tricky if you’re not prepared. Take it from me—fully extend the handle before trying to move it. Trust me, it makes a world of difference (learned that the hard way, lol).
Overall, it’s a solid, dependable generator that performs exactly as advertised. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a powerful and user-friendly portable generator!

After doing prestart instructions, familiarizing myself with operational controls machine fired right up. Bought it to replace Husky generator. Much quieter.

Just moved to Tennessee . E veryone in the neighborhood keept elling me to get a back up generator. Lost power twice. Generator ran whole house no problem at all. Running off propane only. Have not tried gas. Didn't give 5 stars because I haven't had to run for long period of time.
