Fantastic Generator!

We've had our WGen9500DF for two years and have it hooked up to a generac 30amp homelink (w/generator grounded outside). It runs like a dream! Our quality of power in South Bend, IN is horrible. We have up to 5 power outages a year in-city. We have a reliance mb75 to help us gauge our wattage usage. Even with eight circuits covered in generac panel, we barely use half of our 9500 watt gen! Loving this setup! Happy customer!!

I read so many reviews looking for the right generator to power the essentials of our house during a power loss. Settled on this one, and it was easy to set up and ran on the first try. I familiarized myself with lots of reviews where people left their recommendations for options to connect to the house, and we got a plug installed that allows us to power the whole house via the one plug. Yes, it's loud, but not unbearable, especially when the alternative is no power. Love the dual fuel feature and I love the fact that it does NOT connect to a smartphone like some models do. Assembly was easy and it's easy to move once it's on its wheels. The instructions are well-written and easy to follow. Tip: We did have to add a little more oil than the quart that came with the generator, so you may want to have some extra on hand.

When my Westinghouse WGen 9500DF arrived, the box was a little beat up, but I did not see any damage to the generator. The initial assembly is pretty easy and just consists of attaching the wheels and feetwith the supplied wrench. Then adding some oil (which actually comes with the generator). I connected the battery and a propane tank and was ready to go. The electric start is very nice, but I'm glad it includes the pull cord backup. The generator cranked three times as it primed then fired up. The choke is automatic, but again a manual backup exists. I plugged in three space heaters it to give it a little load and it didn't seem bothered in the least.
I love the propane option. Gas goes bad so quickly even with a stabilizer it has to constantly replaced. Propane is always usable. If the power is out at the gas station too, you can still swap a propane tank there.

Purchased this generator a month ago. Easy to assemble (put the wheels on, put the oil in - that's it!). Quite heavy, but with the handle and wheels, quite easy to maneuver around. Using this as a back power source for house during power outages, and as a power source when on extended camping trips. Have had to use it twice this winter already. The dual fuel feature is a godsend! Since it is not used often, I do not use gasoline in it as that would go bad over time. Hooking up the LP tank is super easy - just like hooking up a BBQ grill. Another great feature is that, during power outages, when we need the power, we can start it from inside the house with the push of a button!
Once Spring rolls around, I will be building a shelter for this generator - it's going to be around a long time!

This unit does everything I need

Purchased to run the house in the event of power outage. Have used it twice already. Love the dual fuel feature. Our plan is to only use the propane feature as maintaining gas engines is time consuming and can be annoying. One nice feature is the remote start which was handy in the middle of a storm. The unit with the propane tank was set up in advance of the approaching storm. Once the power went down, flipped the mains and started the unit from inside the house. So far the generator has exceeded our expectations. Planning another purchase in the near future to run our remote power needs.

Great so far

I bought this in December for emergency use at a house I'm renovating, in order to keep the furnace and sump pumps running if necessary. Haven't had to use it for that yet, but it still gets a top notch review. Easy to assemble, easy to start and works perfect out of the box. Filling the oil was a little ridiculous, the fill spout is a little too far under the controls and the included funnel isn't really big enough to get the job done. I didn't have a funnel narrow enough (and was in a hurry so didn't want to go buy one) or I wouldn't have used the supplied one; anyway I did use the supplied one and that so far is the only thing I can say is a negative about this generator. Do yourself a favor and go grab a small funnel with a long neck before you unbox the generator and you'll be good to go.
