Best value for money

We bought the 9500DF as a replacement for an older 5600 watt unit. I did a lot of research before making my decision and found the Westinghouse 9500DF was the best choice for us. We live in a rural area with a well and propane. I love the dual fuel feature, so when I don't have gasoline, the generator will still run. I have the unit installed into a manual transfer switch that powers 10 circuits in the house. My old 5600 watt generator would struggle when we would use the furnace and coffee pot together, if the well pump turned on, it would trip the breaker, which led us to always having to turn everything off when we wanted to take a shower for example. With this new 9500DF, the well pump is no longer a worry. When it turns on, the generator throttles on with ease. We can enjoy making coffee with the furnace on and run water without fear of the generator failing. One major bonus is the remote start feature. When the heavy snow starts, or our local power company, PGE warns of an impending power shutoff, I can simply turn the ignition switch on and, when the power goes off, I simply press the remote, the unit fires up and I flip the transfer switch without ever having to go outside. I love it.

We just purchased it to replace the one we had. It was delivered well before the initial date. It was easy to attach the parts and started without any problems. It is exactly what was advertised especially with the remote start add-on. It is well worth it.

Starts up easily

Just assembled my new generator and it started up easily on first try. Am very happy I can run it on propane as I want to avoid hassles of stale gas and carburetor maintenance

WORKS GOOD ON GAS

Received the unit today 24 Jan. 2022. Should have taken about 30 minutes to assemble, but had trouble with lugs on frame for the mounting feet. the treads were faulty on two the lugs. one on each foot. Had to purchase a tap to to correct the treads. The person welding these lugs need to be more observant as the defect was in the material. Some kind of oil had drained into the bottom of the shipping carton. The oil plug was not tightened and the lp fitting protector was in the bottom of carton. Fitting does no appear to damaged. That is the reasons that I did not give the unit a 5 star.
I have run the unit for about an hour and a half on gasoline. Started up and ran with no problem using the fob and the start button. Output was correct and steady under a moderate load. I have not test the LP fuel yet. That will be tomorrow.

To sum the review up, I am happy to this point in the unit. If I had not had the tread problem, this would have been 5 stars.

Waiting on Altitude Kits!

Purchased online, delivered in just a couple of days. Very Happy! However, I need to order an Altitude Carburetor & Propane Kit for 6000 ft altitude or the Generator is useless without it. That’s fine, they are unavailable / sold out!!
Am very hopeful that customer support can send me the kits ASAP otherwise I have purchased a nice generator that I can not use!! Fingers crossed! I have heard good things about these generators but obviously I can not try mine until I get the High Altitude kits. Therefore I rate as 3 stars but hopefully I can up this to 5 stars soon!
