We just had a power outage at our farm due to a high wind thunderstorm. No power to run our well for water. This unit will more then take care of our needs. Being dual fuel is a huge bonus also.

Generator won't start out of the box

I assembled this duel fuel generator 9500DF as per manual, connected battery cable, hooked propane tank, no load or any appliances hooked, battery is full, and with start button it's just trying to fire up but won't work. I can hear 3-4 clicking sounds but nothing after that. I don't want to put gasoline yet in case it's bad unit and i have to return it. The pull cord is locked and won't pull at all; looks like engine is locked. Opened a case with Westinghouse; if they can't help on this brand new machine I will return it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sharp and smart

I bought the 9500df unit after a series of tornados left us without power for days. There are few generators out there that fulfilled my wish list. As to add more value for purchasing a generator, I wanted one that could not only could power our home in a outage, as that really doesn’t happen very often, and power our 37’ camper. As just a couple months back our campground power was knocked out when a tractor took out an electric pole. The 9500 comes with 50amp service plug, perfect for our camper.
Unboxing and just glancing this is a sharp looking and well built unit. Assembling the foot pegs and wheels is so easy, even a cave man could do it. It was nice they ship it with all you need to assemble it but found the wrench to be tedious so I used my ratchet instead. The instructions read well and are simple to follow, and the unit fired up right away with a touch from the key fob remote start.
I have yet to try running the house, but did test run it using on the camper… it ran the 15,000 btu a/c and 2 refrigerators without a hiccup. I didn’t run 2nd a/c as unit was not “broke in” yet but looking at the numbers it could run that as well. As it is nigh winter here I also ran the furnace with no problems and the electric fireplace. My only gripe with this unit is the placing of the 50 amp receptacle, as 50 amp cords are big and rv power cords are 90 degrees from plug. The 50 amp plug is positioned above the wheels of the unit and it can be a little struggle to get plugged in. Looking at the face of unit with all the outlets, it looks like the 50 amp service could be raised on future models to help this out, although it may not be as aesthetically appearing as having them all lined up.
Overall great unit with plenty of outlets, on occasion I volunteer for habitat for humanity, there’s no need to have splitters or unplug one tool to operate another as you can easily run separate cords to different work stations and still have an outlet to charge tool batteries. And the folding handles and wheels allow the unit to be moved easily if need be, even through grass.

solid generator

I bought this product 3 weeks ago it was delivered as promised.The light assebbly was a breeze no problems. I ran it today for the 5 hour break in period it started on the first push of the push start button. So far so good.
