Just meh

It's just not intuitive. It's got a lot of promise. Any robust tech computer needs to be silent. There is no way to turn off low air pressure vibrations and safety stop vibrations that I have discovered. There are three different places you go to make this thing be quiet. Many setting changes just take too many clicks, or touches. An example of this-Sending a message to another diver and editing the display options. It just took way too long for both. Also the battery is a miss, it just drains too quickly. OLED must still be expensive and complex to include...
I spent a lot of money on this thing and wanted to love it. I dove it nine days in a row and left my Scubapro G2 in the bag to give me a chance to love it. After 20 dives, I wanted to decided I just like it. The old dive computer I have is more intuitive and easier to use, and half the price. Make the diver to diver messaging easier, the reason I bought this thing in the first place, and it might be at least one star better. I'll keep an eye for updates and will add stars if they address some problems.

I’m loving the new X50i. It’s easy to use with the touch screen feature. Easy to navigate. Easy to tea screen underwater. My only complaint is battery life.

Great Dive computer!

I git the Garmin X50I from a friend who who also has the MK3I watch computer. After looking at both, i noticed that the X50I was easier to read and use. I just got my open water certification and was looking for a reliable and useable comouter and this seemed to fit the bill. My friend ended up selling me the X50I as he wes not going to need it as he was not going to dive for a while due to work. I could not be happier with the unit. Not only does it have features that I use now as an oen water dive, but as i pick up other skills and advance in certifications I know that I will not need to change computers as this will handle anything that i wish to pursue in the future. Garmin, keep up the great work you are doing.

I bought this a month ago I have familiarized myself with it but have not had a chance to dive it just yet but I have a feeling if it’s like any of my other Garmin products I won’t be disappointed

Very User Friendly

I received the Descent X50i for Christmas. I went to Cozumel for a week of diving over the New Year Celebration. All I can say is WOW! I have been diving the Descent MK2i (and still love it) but the X50i screen is amazing. The screen is very bright, the multi screen tap feature makes navigating from section to section a breeze. Of course having the connect and Garmin Dive app on the phone helps with initial setup.

First Dive was great

I took the Descent X50i out for the first dive to compare it to my other computers. I strapped 3 computers to me and compared them side by side. The display was amazing; brighter and easier to read than anything else I have. Since I am getting older, I sometimes have difficulty reading the displays but not with this. Took it into deco and was perfectly satisfied with how it operated without making any changes to the layout. Very glad I purchased this!

Moving over from a Shearwater Perdix 2. Extremely impressed after the first week of diving. Interface took a minute to adjust to but then it was a breeze. Love the garmin dive app!
