Won't turn on properly
on December 30, 2025
Posted by: Kinkajou
i bought this a week ago and I am having trouble turning the unit on. I had to attempt mutiple time pushing the on button for it to turn on. I read the same complaints from other users in the forum. I returned the unit to the dealer. Also the unit kept loosing connection with the T2 transmitter. When in or out of the water. As expensive as this unit was you would expect more from Garmin.

Mk3 maybe better
on November 2, 2025

This does nothing the mk3 doesn't do. The plus side to the x50i is you can put more info on the screen so you don't have to scroll. The plus side to mk3 wear it all the time, battery last a lot longer, reads heart rate.

An absolutely delightful computer.. Amazing..
on August 21, 2025

As an instructor I have had many computers in the past and currently have 3 different computers, which now am using as backup. This computer by Garmin is truly amazing.. & the software is second to none. I am amazed that the industry has been so stagnant up till now.. hopefully Garmin's new computer will wake them up. The screen, the information you need during the dive, and the brightness and clarity is truly amazing. If you wish to buy a computer.. for now, at least, look no further.

Great Dive Computer
on August 6, 2025

I bought this Garmin Computer after already having the MK2i. My friend at my local dive shop raves about the x50i and I have to admit that it lives up to the hype at least for me. I am somewhat of a new gadget/tec guy. This dive computer provides you with a lot of information. With the added GPS capabilities that is unmatched. The only downside is the battery life. I recently went to Bonaire where diving all day is a thing. After a couple of dives (2) that were an hour long each I noticed my battery was really low and had to go back and recharge it. Now there are a couple of things that I will have to try based on some suggestions I found on some websites (put in battery save mode, reduce the backlight and a couple of other things). Over all love the Garmin x50i.

Still a few bugs
on August 2, 2025
Posted by: dentnshell
I had to return the first unit before the first dive. Unit would not power on. I only have a handful of dives, but the last dive the ending air pressure was recorded as 6,552! I understand ZERO if I turn the air off before the dive ends But where does 6,552 come from? Starting PSI was 3,274. ( High Pressure Steel 100 )
My first dive I dove with both my MK3i and my x50i. My tank pressure displayed on both units.... But was not saved in the dive log of the x50i,
I think there are still several bugs to be worked out.
