Fast SSD! Portable and Practical

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Lexar SL500 SSD because I needed something compact and lightweight that could still handle large design files, RAW photos, and media assets. I work in communications and graphic design and also do photography as a hobby, so portability and transfer speed both matter a lot to me.
The biggest advantage is definitely the size. It’s very slim and easy to carry around and the metal build feels solid but not heavy. Transfer speeds have been way faster than older external drives I’ve used, especially when moving large batches of files. I wouldn’t expect this thing to constantly hit the advertised maximum speeds for my use case, but so far I'm impressed!
I also like that it stays pretty cool during transfers and has worked smoothly across different devices so far (Asus laptop, Samsung phone, etc.). The only thing is I probably wouldn’t rely on it as my only backup for important files long term. I personally haven’t had issues, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I've tested this for a few weeks but time will tell with respect to reliability.
Overall, I'm happy with the size, speed, and storage space. I think it'svery practical for creative work and everyday use.

Compact

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lexar SL500 Portable SSD is lightweight and compact, and it comes with a USB-C type cable and has an attachment for your computer or laptop. My MacBook recognized the SSD immediately and the folder appeared on the screen and I didn’t need to look for it. However, my iPhone 17 Pro Max can’t locate the SSD and I literally have to go through several steps to find the folder, and transferring files becomes more of a chore. Transfer speed on my MacBook is pretty much immediate but it depends on the number of files and their size. Other than the iPhone issue, I am quite pleased with this compact storage device.

It’s small and could fit right in your pocket. Haven’t had any issues with it overheating. It’s also handy that the usb pops off and can turn into usb-c so you have whichever you need!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s a great portable SSD. Been using the Lexar500 with my iPhone and Mac for a few days now and I love it. Super fast transfer speeds, tiny and lightweight, connects easily without any issues and gives extra 1 TB of storage! Feels premium and doesn't heat up like some other portable SSDs. It's perfect for backing up photos and videos and free in up iPhone storage. They say it's 2 meters drop-resistant, but I didn't try that. Points for being super thin and having a sleek design. I also like the cord with connectors, very versatile!
