Nice gate, but it took my 2 year old one day to be able to open it. Now I don't have peace of mind at night when we're asleep. You don't have to lift up you just move the button and pull open.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m so glad I received this bannister gate. It seems very durable and was easy to install. I love that it already has a piece to connect to the bannister so there’s no added cost to buying this product. The directions to me were very easy to follow. Seems to keep the kids safe which is most important!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 13 month son hates this product as it stops him at his track but I love it. I actually use it in different locations and it is easy to move. Great item to have if you have stairs or just afraid your child will get away from a scary location

Great for stairs; just check your measurements 1st

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited when I first saw this Summer Infant baby gate because it allows banister to banister installation with no drilling required. But I should have measured my stairs first, since the opening downstairs is 48 inch long, 2 inches more than the largest opening of this gate. But my disappointment didn’t last long - we also need a gate for the top of the stairs, and we do have banisters there as well, with an standard size opening, so it does work for us, just not exactly where we intended to place it originally.
We want to baby proof our house, but we were also concerned about not damaging our brand new banisters in the process. So this gate is exactly what we needed. I can’t tell for sure it won’t have any damage after long term use (since you do need to install it tight for a secure fit), but I’m pretty sure they will be less noticeable than having to drill anything. The straps go tightly around the banisters and it feels secure. My 11 month old is starting to pull up to stand, so we needed something sturdy.
The gate itself is easy to open for an adult, but hard for baby to figure it out (although my toddler figure it out pretty quickly). The entire gate opens, so the door is as large as the opening of your stairs.
Instructions are okayish - it’s hard to figure out some of the images, but nothing impossible to assemble.
Now I just need to figure out a solution for our 48 inch opening at the bottom of the stairs.

I have four kids, one 5 year old and one 2 year old and twins that are seven months now and this makes me feel so safe that my kids and roam around upstairs and not go tumbling down the stairs. So easy to install! And the open and close is just as easy! Great item for sure and definitely recommend for little ones!

Sturdy and Easy to Install

What I love most about this gate is that it's sturdy and prevents my very mobile 9-month-old from changing its shape with his playful shaking motion. Definitely recommend!
