Difficult install, latch too easy to unlock

We had a terrible time installing this gate at both the top and bottom of our staircase. We had to redneck engineer some blocks of wood due to the shape of our bannisters. But it serves its purpose. Be warned though that this is a single-handed latch and VERY easy to open. They say the gate is only recommended for ages 6-24 months, which is true because our almost 2 year old can now open this by himself. Which is of course a huge safety hazard and makes me extremely scared for his safety. I wish there was an option to add a two-step latch system to make this safer for older children. Just because he’s 2 years old doesn’t mean he’s able to go up and down a steep staircase alone! This is a decent product but for us requires some DIY to make it exactly what we need
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice gate, needs a smoother install though

Directions are ridiculously unclear, I’m relatively handy but wanted to follow instructions to ensure maximum safely. Also, we have molding so we had to use the spacers, which led to the nails being way too short. Longer screws and were in business.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This gate is awesome. My husband installed it with o issues, our previous one was extremely tricky. We love that the entire gate opens up, not just a narrow opening. I appreciate how high it is, it’s tall enough that my 2&3 year old can’t try to climb over it, even if it’s all the way to the floor, the height is great!
Opening it is easy but kids can’t do it. Overall love this gate! Highly recommend

Great baby gate, directions aren’t 100% clear

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This gate is a great option for a double banister or banister to wall baby gate. I love that there wasn’t any drilling into banisters and love that the gate can come down pretty quickly if needed. The directions were a little difficult to understand, but after a little trial and error we had success.

This gate is strong and sturdy and all that it was marketed as. The only issue that I had with this gate came in mounting the side support to the wall. Due to the wood moulding at the floor, I needed to use the supplied spacers to keep the support plumb. The supplied screws were much too short to fasten the support to the wall without a spacer let alone with a spacer. Had I not needed the spacers, the supplied screws would have only been able to enter the wall stud by 1/4 inch after going through the sheet rock. The solution was easy as I had 2 1/2 inch screws in my shop and used these to mount this side support to the wall and into the wall stud.
Had the supplied screws been long enough, then I would have given this gate a 5 star review.

Perfect baby gate

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This baby gate worked out perfectly for our baby who recently started crawling all around the house! Set up was very easy to do and easy to install. Gate feels very sturdy and I feel comfortable with her hanging onto the gate, as she does.
I would definitely recommend this gate if you have a stair case and are looking for a gate to install for that.
