I thought the voice control would’ve pointless. But especially on a head light it comes in really handy. It’s like the 3rd had you need.

Made my dad jealous!

What an awesome light source! I always keep a headlamp in my car for early morning hikes, trail runs, and emergencies. So stoked to have this new VOICE ACTIVATED headlamp as my go-to light! I couldn't wait to show my dad who is a flashlight and headlamp connoisseur and he definitely is jealous of this headlamp.
There are some headlamps on the market that are motion activated but that causes a problem when you are working up close to something and it can trigger the motion sensor when you don't want. Voice activation is the perfect feature for when your hands are full or busy but you need your light to turn on, off, or change brightness.
While voice activation is a huge selling feature of this product, it is not the only things that makes it great. The light itself is fantastic and provides so much adjustability to your preferred brightness, width, and warmth depending on your light needs. You can choose to turn off the voice activation as well and use it standard.
Another feature I'm a big fan of is the rechargeable battery. No more AA or AAA batteries that you may or may not have on hand and probably forgot to bring as backup. You can just recharge the battery pack with a cord and also charge something with a micro USB thanks to the adapter that comes with the charge cord!
Last but not least, let's appreciate the adjustable strap. It's reflective, providing more lowlight visibility on the road or trails and has clip making it easy to put on and remove. It adjusts just barely big enough for me to wear around my waist while I'm running and the clip is perfect to use it like a belt rather than try and stretch it over my shoulders or hips.
Thank you, Coast, for this fantastic product that I have been using on the regular and will be for years!

Great all around headlamp

This is a great all-around headlamp that has quickly become a regular part of my gear. I’ve owned it for a few months now and have definitely put it to work, using it multiple times a week for my job. The warm light setting is perfect for small, hands-on tasks, and the battery life is outstanding—it honestly feels like it lasts forever between charges.
The only downside for me is the voice activation feature. While it works, it adds to the overall cost of the headlamp, and I don’t find myself using it very often. That said, aside from this minor drawback, the performance and reliability make this headlamp well worth it.

I didn't know if I would like the voice option but I do. I like it very much. This headlamp is very useful and has a great twist focusable light and also a warm area light as well as green and red lights. What would make this headlamp perfect is the ability to brighten and dim in red and green modes.

Not for trail running

The voice control is great. I use it for night running on roads. When oncoming cars high beam me I can say "coast turbo" and return fire. And they notice. I can also "coast minimum" or "coast red" and not blind other people out walking their dogs.
Now that the negative. I really wanted to be able to use this for trail running, but I need to tilt the light down, but then one hard step and it flops down. The band is also not very comfortable at the light after long hours. And not easily adjustable. What I'd really love is this voice control on my competitor head lamp that frankly has better construction and a Boa adjustable band.

We've been using it in the different departments at work and all are in agreement that it lives up to expectations. From the maintenance, sanitation, inventory, and mechanical shop it performed flawlessly. No complaints at all especially with the voice control.

Great light when you have heavy gloves on

Finally got to test out myFL97R light elk hunting. Started my two hour uphill hike at 5am. Being able to use voice commands without speaking loud was important to me and the best part was easy commands without having to fumble around with gloved hands. Watched others I was with having trouble changing their light color to red or a low beam. How many times in the past I had to push buttons repeatedly until I got the light on that I wanted. This is a game changer for me.

Without a doubt the absolute best headlamp...

I cannot begin to tell you how many head lamps I have that simply just don't work or won't cut it. I have tried just about every other one and there is always something wrong and it's become increasingly frustrating trying to find one that will be up to my personal standards. And with this one here, I believe I finally have.
This headlamp delivers exceptional sustained brightness, very useful beam modes, rugged build, and long battery life. It performs like a professional tool rather than a gimmick gadget. The strap design has this center-of-gravity balance that keeps the lamp stable during movement and while bending over, minimizing head bounce during any activity such as gardening, working in a garage, or simply taking your dog for a walk in the lower light evening hours. It's just an exceptional piece of equipment that is added to my arsenal of tools.
The best and most impressive feature that this device has is the ability to listen to you and your commands, then promptly abides by them. You have greasy or dirty or oily fingers and dont want to get it dirty, simply state the command you need to have done, such as gettting brighter or dimmer lighting, or just turning it off or on altogether. I have not seen any other product do this and do it so well. I simply love this lamp. I recommend this thing to anyone and everyone in the need for a device like this. You will not be disappointed!
