Probably the worst invention ever made. You think with the technology we we have now you could do better. Didn't like it when it came out and it hasn't improved or made any leeway at all. Please work on this product

Short lifespan

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use the Smart Key knobs and deadbolts at my facility. The rekey option makes it very easy to change as needed. However, the latches wear out very fast at the handle turning mechanism point of contact. The deadbolts do not hold up well, the keyway starts floating, and sometimes the keys will get stuck or the keyway will not return to the starting position. I contacted customer service for warranty or repair and was told they do not warrant the product in a commercial setting and do not do repairs on their own locks. Very disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

first issue in 40 some years

What happened Kwikset, you changed the design? bigger cylinder screws with the same cylinder hole as old which is not the right size. The screw won't fit in the cylinder. The nice people at Lowes looked at it to and thought either the wrong screws or the wrong cylinder went into the package.
I am not abandoning Kwitset but this was a surprise.
Open the box before you purchase and look and see if the screws go through the cylinder before you buy.

Poor design. Only a professional can install

Poor design for handy to install. Jacked with it for an hour trying to get all the pins lined up.
