Very sleek deadbolt!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When it comes to my home, I like a modern, sleek look. The Downtown Deadbolt is perfect for us! Very simple design but so modern looking. It was easy to install and easy to use. This gives me added security and peace of mind.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second experience with Kwikset lock products & I'm very happy! The product is called the downtown deadbolt. I got this item to give to a close friend to lock the door of her shed. Lately, a bunch of things have come up missing so it was time for better security. This is a one sided key lock deadbolt with re key technology. It was very, very easy to install! It is super nice, have a low profile on the door & is very strong & secure! There is an included tool & instructions to rekey this lock. It seems to be a simple process in case the key(s) become lost, which is awesome! No more having to change the entire lock system! We haven't needed to try that & hopefully never will, but it's a great feature to have! This deadbolt as I said is very strong. It doesn't budge, seems like it would be kick proof & pick proof! I will continue to support Kwikset. They're top notch in style, quality, ease of use & safety/security in my opinion!

Easy to install

Torque blade kept hitting cover plate

Cute, modern and sleek design but doesn’t work. Each time you rotate the turnpiece, the torque blade would become misaligned, which then causes the deadbolt to catch. We purchased for our side door and thought it would be a great security deadbolt, but are just finding ourselves in yet another frustrating experience, having to return and purchase a different brand. This is the second deadbolt in six months that we received, poorly engineered. Very disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're here to help! The Downtown low-profile deadbolt fits a 2-1/8 borehole and installs a little differently than your standard deadbolts due to it being a low-profile model. Love the slim look

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put this in my entryway door. I have security cameras all around but I still feel I need good deadbolt. It gives me piece of mind and I love the sleek look to it. It’s stylish, not as bulky as the old deadbolt. I had. I didn’t change keys. I just kept the keys that came with it.
