Terrible Design - Why Wrap Around and All Glass?!
on August 17, 2020
Posted by: Sad Note Devotee
I bought The Note 10+ upon release, after my Note 3 finally died after working brilliantly, without case or cracked screen for 6.5 years!
Note 10+ - I can not understand why the design decision to wrap the whole phone, front and back, in glass, and why to have the screen wrap to the curved sides. Upon initially holding it, the non-square sides make for a less stable grip, plus the wrap around screen means that just by holding the phone you might be touching part of the touch screen.
The wrap around glass also makes the phone extremely vulnerable to screen cracks. The glass front and back means that the phone wants to slip and slide off any surface it's placed upon. Upon the first drop, within the first couple months, flew out of my jacket pocket (not a problem with previous phones) about 3 feet onto concrete and cracked the screen which has evolved not only into cracked glass but dead zones in the screen image.
The UI, customization, and basic functionalities seem to have degraded over time, versus improved (lock screen control of music apps etc etc).
Having the speaker on top of the phone makes call privacy and phone holding position odd. I don't know why edge to edge screen is so "important", most video feeds wont' match the odd, stretch aspect ratio of the phone, so you're spending battery on black bars. Plus, the improved screen size isn't fully utilized because there aren't enough resolution/sizing options to tailor it to maximize the screen space.
Good cameras, nice to still have s-pen. So it's got that going for it, which is nice...
After 1 year of use, I'm less than impressed with the total battery life, but I was spoiled with being able to swap out batteries on my Note 3 when they started to lose capacity due to life-cycling.

The best birthday/graduation gift
on August 25, 2020
Posted by: Hadassah
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i got this phone in august after my high school graduation in 2020. although, my birthday was in january. my dad got his note 10 plus on january 1st but got another one for free because of the new year's promo. all my life in 2020 i have always wanted to use the phone until he gave it to me after my graduation. he told me that he wanted to give it to me on my birthday but it would have been too obvious so he made me think about forgetting the phone.
now, i am using it and i love it!!! everything about it is just amazing. i am using the aura black and i have never felt like a big girl before in my life. i have tiny hands but the phone is worth it. thank you samsung!!!!!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Like all things Samsung it’s great till it’s not . Not made for the long haul if you get a year good on you. Buggy software phone runs hot enough to bother your hand . This is not my first Samsung to have issues. Like a said great while it last but it has a shelf life . Blue tooth issues call issues not a carrier issue. Look else where as this has been common with my phones .

A great phone, but compromises important features

I traded in my Note 9 for this device last year. After 1 year, I am impressed by the wide range of things this device does very capably, however, I also noticed that this phone has compromised on things that I could have never caught my Note 9 missing or doing, things such as the heart rate sensor, iris scanner, fingerprint reader, unintrusive display, Notification LED, the incredible speakers the Note 9 possessed, and most importantly, the headphone jack. The last point especially hurts because Samsung always touted their Note series as the no compromise, all-in-one package, and in a interesting turn of events, they actually deleted those ad campaigns mocking another company for ditching the headphone jack, when ironically, they did the same with the Note 10. Quite hypocritical if you ask me. Overall, I have had a great experience with this device, but I cannot help but feel that it leaves me with a feeling of disappointment, being a follow up to THE best phone in 2018, and I am personally thinking about going back to the Note 9.

embarrassing my favorite music app does not support split screen
i had to download an app yo get voice mails
when i get a phone call while driving i answer the call and cannot get audio out to the people on the other line
android auto is inferior to apple car play in every way
there are loads of adds in most of my apps
the s pen has no functionality in my favorite app
and thats just a few of the inconveniences of this overpriced phone. i'll definitely be back to highlight more of this phones shortcomings on a later date
