This juicer makes quick work of citrus fruit. When pulp builds up in the strainer, the strainer will spin quickly to expel any juice left in the pulp. This is great, unless you juice with the clear plastic lid off (as you must with lemons and limes), because then the juice flies everywhere. They should make it possible to turn this feature off.

The occasional grating sound of the gears or "transmission" when the juicer direction is reversed is disconcerting. Gives the feeling that I've done something wrong. I hand-rinse, and the collection of pulp takes more water and time than I used to use on a previous juicer that didn't rely on the collection "cage" that the Cuisinart has .. . obviously for the final hi-speed spin function.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
