I originally had a BaByliss Ultra Thin 1 1/2in, that died after 9 years. 9 YEARS! I decided to switch to this one for my new straightener, as I really liked the temp buttons vs the wheel, and the vents. While its a little heavier than the ultra thin, it still feels good in hand, and just as simple to use.
I have thick hair strands, and usually run at around 410 degrees. The ultra thin would often get pretty warm around the handle - not too hot or uncomfortable to hold, but def warm. This one doesnt seem to do this as bad which is a major plus as well.
I am really happy with this purchase and definitely feel confident that this one will last me at least another 9 years! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a new straightener.
