Not working correctly

I currently own a Dyson Supersonic blow dryer that isn't more than 2 years old. One day while I was using it, it just stopped working. The lights would come on but no air would come out. I called the company to ask for an exchange but representative gave me a few options but none that worked for my situation. The representative asked me to locate the serial number either on the tag on the device, the box or the owners manual, which I have none of due to the length of time I've owned the blow dryer. The representative explained that these three areas are the only visible areas to find the serial number. The only other option would be to drive to a Dyson service center to take the device apart so the serial number could be located. The closest service center is an hour & a half away from where I live. The exchange process Dyson has in place isn't consumer friendly. The fact that the serial number isn't on the outside of the physical product (not on a tag) is a nuisance. The fact that there aren't more Dyson service centers closer to the north Shore is highly inconvenient. I feel Dyson set up the exchange process so the consumer has a difficult experience trying to return or exchange defective merchandise. Dyson isn't standing behind their products and making it more difficult to do an exchange for a defective products. Due to the price point of Dyson products & the way they handle exchanges I will no longer be giving them my business.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Aleesha, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to see from your review here, that you've begun to experience a power issue with your Dyson Supersonic. It sounds like from what you have described, that the dryer was never registered, and that you have removed the label or tag, attached to the cord, which has the machine's serial number on it. We do actually make mention in the user manual that comes with your device, to not remove that tag or serial number from the machine. Doing so can void the machine's warranty. We do need a serial number in order to authenticate the dryer as a genuine Dyson product, as well as to look into any warranty support options for you. We always aim to deliver a great experience, and we are gutted when we don’t meet expectations.

100% lives up to the hype

Like many I hesitated over this purchase because of the steep price - but three weeks in my only regret is that I didn’t buy this sooner. I gave up blow drying my hair years ago because I lacked the time, patience or skill to spend 30+ minutes using a hair dryer and ending up with a frizzy mop that just got bundled up into a pony tail. My default was putting my hair in a bun wet and letting it air dry that way, hoping to tame the frizz and basically just keeping my hair out of the way. If I had an early meeting or had to get out the door fast there was no way I could wash my hair unless it was the night before, and I hate going to bed with wet hair. All of that has changed with the Dyson. I can dry my hair in 6 minutes flat with the gentle air attachment - and not just dry, but out-the-door ready with my hair down and looking styled with minimal effort. The diffuser takes 8-10 minutes and the extra time is because I have to tame the front a little with some product after I am done drying. I let my daughter try it - she has much longer and thicker hair than me, but the diffuser took her about 8 minutes too, down from the 45+ minutes it normally takes her. Even better, I don’t feel the extreme heat or burning on my scalp that I have felt with other dryers and the noise, for me at least, is much more tolerable. I read a review that said the Dyson Supersonic is only worth it for people who wash and dry their hair every day, but I think the Dyson is also worth it for someone like me who had totally given up on blow drying and styling their hair. I have worn my hair down more times in the last three weeks than the last three years and for maybe the first time in my life I am enjoying my hair as an “accessory” in a way that until now I was only able to do with trips to the salon. Early morning meeting? Last minute date night? No problem. I know I can wash my hair and be ready to go in literally minutes. Drying my hair now takes less time than washing it and getting dressed and the weird part is I actually look forward to doing it. I am sure this reads like a promotional review, but it is just so refreshing to spend money on something that truly does what it says it’s going to do that I felt I had to share my overwhelmingly positive experience. If I have to give a negative it’s the case, which looks gorgeous but is not very practical. The inserts are all cardboard and unless you want to spend more time taking your hair dryer out and putting it away than it takes to actually dry your hair, you will probably end up getting rid of those flimsy pieces pretty quickly. That means your beautiful, expensive hair dryer ends up getting shoved in the box on top or underneath of all the attachments and it is not a very practical or elegant solution. An option for a stand or wall mount instead of the expensive but not very helpful case would be great. Other than that, thanks Dyson, for a game changing product.

Wish the diffuser was bigger

The hair dryer is great & the attachments are easy to use. However, I wish the diffuser attachment was bigger. I bought this specifically to dry & diffuse my curly hair. I find the diffuser is so small I can only do small sections at a time. It works great otherwise, but would love to see Dyson come out with a large diffuser attachment!

After asking for this hairblower for 2 Christmases and 2 birthdays and not receiving it...I finally bought it for myself. So far worth every penny!. I can easily dry my hair in less than halve the time.

Absolutely love it. I’ve been wanting one for years and finally decided to go for it. I couldn’t get past the price of it originally. I have not used my flat iron since I got it and my hair gets frizzy. But the curved attachment does an amazing job at taking it down.

It was worth it paying for it!!!
Now, I want to buy the straightener and the other one with all the attatchments to get my hair curly!!!

Best Investment!

This will be my second Dyson hair dryer purchase and mainly because there are 3 of us using it now. But I have thick long hair and it needs taming. It used to take me 35 minutes to blow dry my hair with my old conventional dryer- with the Dyson, it takes me 12 minutes! I’m a momma now and this is not just game changing- it’s life changing because it saves me time. And with a toddler, time is everything :) Proud 5 year Dyson owner!
