I have extensions and my hairdresser uses the Dyson and recommended it to me for taking care and smoothing out my extensions. When I wash my hair keeps my extensions and the best shape ever so they last longer!
I’ve always wanted to own one, but kind of hesitate on the price. Well I couldn’t agree more with the phrase “you get what you paid”. This hair dryer does its job. It takes less time to dry my hair and it doesn’t give out hot air that you feel like it burn your scalp like other hair dryer. It comes with all the attachments. What I like the most is the flyaway attachment. After using this my hair is not frizzy especially on a humid weather. It’s such a great investment. I hope it will last as long as one of the Dyson vacuum I bought years ago.
This is replacing a much-loved dryer that I had for 15+ years before it stopped working, so my standards for longevity and whether this purchase has been worth the money are going to be high. As of now, I’ve had the Dyson for a month, using it 2x a week, so just beyond the first-impression stage. What I like: it dries my thick, shoulder-length hair fast, even at the medium heat and speed settings; it’s a snap to add or remove attachments thanks to the magnetic connector. A few things I don’t love: having the controls in the back is awkward and has taken some getting used to; the dryer is heavier than I expected; the surface of the gorgeous vinca color immediately started to dull on the handle, probably from styling product residue. A note on the attachments: I only use two - the concentrator and the flyaway tamer - and they’re both great. The flyaway attachment does exactly what it promises. The matching ‘presentation’ box, while lovely, isn’t as practical as it could be because it doesn’t fasten in any way and it’s difficult getting all the parts to fit - not a big deal, just don’t buy this particular edition expecting much from the box.
Let’s be real, you’re buying this because it looks futuristic. You think it might be compromised performance, but I would say it’s a very adequate blow dryer. The decibal is not as loud as traditional blow dryers because it has a swift sonic sound (not sure how to explain it any better lol). I love it overall. I think you will too if you like it for it’s probably overengineered blow dryer.
