The best hairdryer

This hairdryer is by far the best hairdryer I have ever had. It's also the most expensive I have ever had (by 4x) so I definitely feel entitled to be extra critical in my review.
There are 2 "flaws" with this design which baffles me given Dyson's attention to detail and obsession with design.
1. The cord is heavy and clunky. Any weight that the product designers removed from the actual hair dryer was counteracted by the weight of the cord. The slip pad that came with the dryer so obviously an add-on to counteract this downfall.
2. The slip pad flies off my counter when the air from this jet engine-hairdryer catches under it (aka, all the time). It's a miracle that it hasn't fallen into the toilet yet but I'm sure the day is coming. None-the-less, I have to stop and put it back on the counter at least twice during each drying session
3. The cool shot button should be on the other side of the handle. Right now, you have to contort your thumb backward to get it to the proper position to adjust the temperature. Very uncomfortable. I can't imagine how a small handed person could do it.
4. The metallic high-gloss bezel on the back side of the hairdryer scratches easily so don't pack it in with your brushes. I pack it in a duster bag that came along with a handbag purchase.
So yea - its great, really great - I can style my hair like never before with this dryer. Its hot, its fast, its beautiful but there are some classic "first gen" misses here that I'm sure Dyson will correct for the 2nd gen.

after using the dryer, I have to leave it out on the counter to pool off. Also the attachments get very hot and need to be left out to cool.

Me and my husband have great trust in the Dyson brand itself so when we were looking for a new hair dryer, supersonic was our choice with no doubt. After 3 weeks of usage, it saves me so much time in the morning even with low heat mode. My hair is sleek with no frizz ( I think its very noticeable as others compliment my hair condition). If you are busy in the morning and care about your hair and scalp, this is what you should get!!

Greatest Dryer Ever!!!!!!!

I love my Dyson Supersonic. I have very thick hair and it dries my hair in record time. I also have curly hair and it lets me dry it smoothly. I took it to my stylist and he absolutely loved it. I am taking it to the guy who cuts my hair next time I go and he can't wait to see how it works.

Great balance, speed and temperature settings and magnetic adapters . I wish it had a better hanging mechanism and the filter cover keeps coming loose.

I am very impressed with this hair dryer. Effective and efficient. It dries my hair quickly and leaves my hair more soft and shiny than drying with my previous hair dryer. It is an investment, but so far, I am happy I invested!

This blow dryer is absolutely fantastic.. great on lower settings to build volume on fine hair textures and full force for coarse. I would like to see a longer cord on the next model but I would recommend it to anyone looking for fabulous results in half the time.
