I have had my Dyson Professional edition for less than six months and it is constantly overheating mid-service.
I loved it at first because it was so quiet. This dryer is just NOT made for someone working in a high volume environment.
Pros: Normal
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

One tip I can recommend would be ensuring the filter inlet area is not covered by your hand while using Dyson Supersonic, as well as that the filter remain clean through regular routine maintenance. How did I live without this for so long! I’m so amazed at the difference this has made to my hair. My hair is very frizz prone and normal blow drying makes it really puff out. This dryer takes most of the frizz out just with the normal dryer not even using the smoother. I’m totally blown away!

Disclosure: when I registered the item, I was sent a little free lint brush for the barrel fan.
The way the motor is designed into the handle is so much better for hands, wrists and arm, this is truly wonderful. And it drys really fast.
It is very high-priced.
Also, hair strands can sometimes get sucked in two of the three styling attachments. This is not a problem with the diffuser styling attachment.
Yet, the diffuser styling attachment for curly/wavy hair seems too heavy for the magnet so it is always falling off whilst one is drying one’s hair using this atttachment.
The other magnetic styling attachments stay safely put.
All in all, it is worth the investment if one has joint problems, and to cut down styling time in the morning before work.

Great when it works but sadly lasted only 2 years

The hairdryer worked great making drying of my long hair faster and leaving my hair healthier and shinier looking. Not to mention the light weight making it easier on the arm. It was an expensive investment for a hairdryer which I thought would last several years. Unfortunately barely a month past expiry of the 2 year warranty it stopped working. For the money I would expect it to last significantly longer as have all the half dozen other Dyson products that I own. Very disappointed.

Best hair dryer this 60 year old has ever used!

I hesitated on buying this dryer for a long time because of the price. My hair is color treated every 3 weeks. I wash and blow dry it every other day. It was starting to look dry and over processed even with expensive leave on conditioners. I thought about how much I spend on having it colored, and on all of the products I use trying to keep it in decent condition. After reading the great reviews I decided to give it a try. I hoped this dryer would be less damaging to my hair. I knew after the first use that it was worth every penny. My hair dries faster with much less heat. It looks smoother and healthier after 2 weeks. I love this dryer!

I’ve only been using this for about 10 days, but what a difference it has made in the smoothness and amount of body my thin, fine hair has! It’s like some sort of miracle! My “second-day” hair retains most of that body as well. The Dyson takes less time to dry my hair, and I feel as if it’s in better condition. The only downside for me is the bulkiness of the cord. I’m not sure why it’s so thick and has a rectangular block thingie as part of the cord, but it sure takes up more space in my vanity drawer. The cord will make it a bit more cumbersome to tote around for travel, but I’m going to take it anyway because it makes such a difference in the way my hair turns out. I’m not sorry I spent the big bucks to buy this amazing piece of machinery!
