Cord Alert - It's a nightmare - CLUNKY and AWKWARD

We have 2 Dyson vacs and LOVE them both - but the hair dryer, not loved so much. My husband bought this for me for a gift and I was thrilled - I would have never justified paying this much for a hair dryer. It takes some getting used to for good results, but I'm beginning to like using it. HOWEVER - the cord is an absolute nightmare. It is extremely thick and heavy; additionally there is a brick sized device in the cord about 10 inches from the plug. The cord and "brick" bang my countertop and drawer and I'm constantly having to reposition the cord while drying my hair so that I don't damage my vanity. I'm all for sturdy products and safety features, but this is a ridiculous design debacle. I have never had another dryer with such an awkward cord design. Dyson missed the mark on this! Last but not least the cord is very heavy and I'm not sure I would ever take this monster mess on a trip.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazing!

I received this hair dryer from my husband for Christmas and IT IS AMAZING! I have long, fairly straight hair which normally takes forever to blow dry. This machine has not only shortened the time it takes to dry my hair but it has honestly improved the look and feel of my hair. I am thoroughly impressed and definitely recommend this product!

I could give this product ten stars if it was possible. My husband gave me this hair dryer for Christmas and I absolutely love it. It is amazing how fast it dries my hair, makes it smooth, shinny, and perfect. I can create so much body and my hair looks so healthy. I already own four other Dyson products and I am so happy to own one more. Worth every penny.

Have been wanting this hair dryer for a couple of years and finally got one as a gift this past Christmas! Love it, it is very powerful and dries my shoulder length hair in a few minutes. My husband splurged on getting the travel case (super cute) and the display stand which I love. Only thing is, I can't seem to get over the extremely long and bulky power cord. Has anyone come up with any ideas for storing the cord? I want to use the display stand but cannot stand the look of the cord taking up half the counter.

So soft, but turns off!

I was so excited to open a Dyson Supersonic hair dryer for Christmas! This dryer made my thick hair feel so soft with the first use. After using the hair dryer for a second and third time, it shut off mid-way through the drying process each time. I tried restarting the device on each occasion, and both the white and red lights flashed, but there was no airflow from the device- just flashing lights. The product guide recommended calling the company for support. With support help, I will be sending the device in for a replacement. I really hope the replacement product can live up to its reviews of such an amazing hair dryer that can finish the job without turning off mid-dry. If not, I am hopeful for a refund for a different product that can get the job done.

I'm happy to inform you that Dyson Supersonic is designed with 4 precise heat settings, as well as 3 precise speed settings. Each setting is designed to provide varying outcomes depending on the style you have in mind for any particular drying session. Along with these settings, Dyson Supersonic will also provide intelligent heat control, which measures the exit temperature 20 times every second. This helps prevent extreme heat damage, protects your natural shine and ensures Dyson Supersonic is at best temperature based on the setting that you select.

US Market Model is Fatally Flawed

Dyson say they “brought in 103 specialists”. They say they “built 600 prototypes”. They say they “analyzed 1010 miles of hair”. But somehow the only solution they could come up with for different voltages around the world was to add a massive transformer brick into the power cable for the US market like total amateurs. An amazing hairdryer totally let down by compromised ergonomics due to a lazy shortcut.
To be clear...EU market models are just plug > power cable > hairdryer but I have to tolerate a huge plastic brick halfway up my power cable which bangs against the carrara marble wall when I’m using my beautiful new Dyson hairdryer.
It’s just not what I expected from Dyson. Get it sorted people.

Perfection! Best diffuser ever for wavy/curly hair!

My beloved hairstylist uses Dyson at her salon and she loves it, I too when she styles my hair. It’s so easy to use and no fighting getting the attachments off and on. I have natural wavy hair and a diffuser is a must in my daily routine. With that said, I have always struggled with frizz. I realize that a lot of things can contribute to frizz, but I never attributed it to my diffuser attachments, because I have always purchased what I considered to be higher end blow dryers. I use the Dyson recommended flow and heat settings for the diffuser attachment and have been seriously impressed. The diffuser is unlike any other I have used and there is a significant difference in my hair texture, better defined curls and much less frizz. I also got the dryer/attachment stand and so glad I did. It’s so nice to have it neatly and compactly displayed on the counter, and not have to fuss with putting into a drawer and having a separate bag for the attachments. I’m so pleased with the performance of this blow dryer! It’s just awesome!
Just a side note, when I was researching the Dyson and reading reviews, some girls complained about too much power and not getting a smooth finish when styling. Like with any product, it’s best to read the user manual and use their setting recommendations to achieve the results your are after. In my opinion, the negative reviews I have read are more than likely due to not using the dryer as recommended.
