I love my Dyson hair dryer!!! It dries my hair quickly and smoothly and I don’t even need to straighten after I dry it anymore!!! Definitely cuts down the time it takes for me to get ready! Would totally recommend to everyone!

Leaves hair feeling dry, I don’t get the same volume I used to get with my regular blow dryer. So expensive and not really worth it. Really bummed it wasn’t what I thought it would be.

The Dyson Supersonic has been acoustically tuned. The powerful motor is enveloped by a vibration reduction system and tuned to produce one inaudible frequency. While everyone is different, we certainly wouldn't expect hair to feel dry, or take on a straw-like texture after use. One quick tip I would recommend, as outlined in our Dyson Supersonic support videos, will be using the dryer directly against your hair with a low speed/heat setting (to start with) using either your hand, a paddle brush or roll brush to control the movement of your hair. Please also note that each heat and airflow setting is designed to provide varying outcomes depending on the style you have in mind for any particular drying session. I bought the hairdryer for my salon use, and not only was I amazed at the results, so were my clients. A number of my clients then either bought one themselves, or asked for one for their birthday or Christmas!! I didn’t want to be left out so I bought another one for my personal use at home. I am so glad I did!! Gift yourself one, or ask to be gifted one!!

I couldn't wait to get this hair dryer and for Christmas my husband got it for me. Wow was I disappointed!! I used it for about 2 weeks. I tried every setting its capable of and it dried out the ends of my hair every time. They looked like straw. I have never had a problem with any other hair dryer in my life and that's about 35 years of using hair dryers. I only use one a couple of times a week on average. I was so panicked the last time I used it because I feared my straw look would be permanent. It does have great power and I loved the design but unfortunately I had to send it back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

While everyone is different, we certainly wouldn't expect hair to feel like straw after using Dyson Supersonic. There are a few different things you can do to change the method in which you dry your hair. To begin with the unit is designed with a type of thermal control which means it will monitor and control the temperature at all times. When the dryer is held away from your head the dryer reads the temperature of the room and not your hair; this also causes your hair to blow all around which can lead to damage and tangles. In light of this, it may be necessary to use the dryer directly against your hair with a low speed/heat setting (to start with) using either your hand, a paddle brush or roll brush to control the movement of your hair. When applying these tips to your everyday styling you should start to see a difference in the texture of your hair.

Impressed with new model

So I bought the first Dyson blow dryer expecting it to change my life. It did not. But I liked the compliments I got on it and the mechanics in the handle so it’s not too heavy. When it died after three years. (3 years. I usually go through one a year to the price averages out) I tried a friends 400 dollar blow dryer and was not impressed.
I used my old back up and absolutely hated it. So I bought the new version of the Dyson.
Wow. I am impressed this time. Higher air power. Faster blowout times. Extra nozzles. And a longer warranty.
My client today had very think hair half way down her back. 10 minute wet to dry.
I guess I am a Dyson lifer now if they keep up the excellent products.
Oh and I can hear my clients without everyone screaming over the dryer.
