Dries hair fast & smooth. Lightweight. Came with lots of attachments and some other goodies. I chose the stand as one of my gifts. I recommend getting the stand bc it holds the dryer and 3 attachments securely. Airflow in the handle is also great bc I’ve found with other dryers they have pulled my hair out when on the top. Worth the $$$

I recently purchased my Dyson because I’ve decided to grow out my natural hair and want to ensure I’m beginning the process able to maintain healthy hair and scalp. I’m a Black male with hair that is relatively short(now just about 2”) and it’s hard to notice there aren’t very many black male reviews for this product so I hope this helps anyone considering this investment. My curl pattern ranges from 3c to 4b across the top and back of my head with my sides and crown closer to a 2c to 3c range(some spots are almost straight). I’ve already tried 2 different blow dryers that left my hair feeling really dry, if dry at all, and the one that did work only did so on the highest setting. I’d rather not fry my hair while it’s in its infancy of growth so since I’ve heard great things from friends who have this I thought I’d try.
First impression left me shocked, it worked so efficiently. After only a light towel dry to get the ‘wet’ out this could have dried my entire head using only the cool setting. Again, my hair is relatively short but the force of the air seems to do a good portion of the work. And even on the highest air setting it’s still much quieter than the other 2 blow dryers I’ve tried.
I generally detangle, pick my hair back while using the Styling concentrator to stretch my curl backwards; all in the same direction. I’m super excited to try the wide-tooth comb attachment but that’s on its way, so I’ve been using my standard hair pick which works just fine for now.
If I don’t plan on leaving the house, I’d then throw on a satin wave cap and go about my day. But if I’m heading out, after drying my hair straight back to about 80%, I’ll add a bit of gel before I continue with a styling sponge to achieve the look I prefer. When I’m done using my styling brush I finish drying with the Diffuser attachment(which I’m obsessed with) to lock in my curls and enhance the shine. I’ve used only the first heat setting since owning it and it gets the job done. Again, my hair is short and growing so I’m not using my Dyson to the extent many others may be but it has brought my routine down to a fraction of what it was with the other dryers I’ve been trying. Plus, my hair is super soft, shiny and feels healthy with curls intact all day. Curl and wave patterns are well-defined and look more uniform when I’m done styling than they did drying with other blow dryers.
I hope this helps someone! If you’re on the fence, at least TRY it if you’re serious about having hair that’s not exposed to harsh heat every time you need to dry. BONUS, it functions just as well drying off my body after a shower, too! Refreshing!

No more frizzy hair!

Received the dyson hair dryer as a Christmas gift. It has been on my list a long time. Very easy to use! Love the different fan and temperature settings. My hair felt very soft the first time using. I have fine hair and was very damaged from other hair dryers. It’s amazing that after a few days the frizzy hair is gone!
