Better than the other hair dryers out there BUT it makes my hair static

I was really excited to receive my new dyson supersonic as i heard great reviews about it, and I have friends who highly recommend it.
I like it because i save a lot of time in drying my hair. My only concern is, with the dyson, it really makes my hair static which i find very strange since i never experienced this with my old hair dryer (non-dyson). Is this normal?

Hi Sam, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for sharing your review. We're so happy to know how excited you were, to receive your Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer. There are a few different things you can do to change the method in which you dry your hair. To begin with the unit is designed with a type of thermal control which means it will monitor and control the temperature at all times. When the dryer is held away from your head the dryer reads the temperature of the room and not your hair; this also causes your hair to blow all around which can lead to damage and tangles. In light of this, it may be necessary to use the dryer directly against your hair with a low speed/heat setting (to start with) using either your hand, a paddle brush or roll brush to control the movement of your hair. When applying these tips to your everyday styling you should start to see a difference in the texture of your hair. Due to the ionizer, we wouldn't expect any static to occur.

I purchased 2 supersonic hairdryers one for my Mom and the other for my niece as Christmas gifts. They absolutely love them! Say their hair has never looked better

Attachments Are Great

I got the blow dryer as a gift. I thought of buying one when it came out, but couldn't justify the price. We'll it's definitely worth the price. I love the blow dryer. I have long curly hair & I was able to blow dry it straight in 11 minutes. I tell everyone now the blow dryer is worth the expense. My hair came out looking like it does after a visit to the salon. I even love the diffuser attachment. My curls come out a little tighter.

It's nothing "out of this world" it is a hair dryer. There is nothing extraordinary, it functions as it's meant to. I find the cord to be cumbersome. The magnetic attachments are great, but they are hot to touch when you need to switch them out quickly. I have no doubt that this will last me decades, since it's a dyson.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Dyson Supersonic also features 4 precise heat control settings to also aid in drying, styling hair, as well as locking in your hair style. While the smoothing nozzle works well with working sections of your hair with a gentle airflow that can be used with just your hand, styling hair can be done with the styling concentrator as well as a brush.
